He lost his job at Leuven, so there is very little chance they appoint him. Smacks of when Oscar Garcia was linked, and he wasn't in the frame either.

They're just putting 2 and 2 together and making 5. It's going to be a long few days at this rate!

True. But they did give Nigel Pearson a job at OH despite sacking him at Leicester

Tbf, if the angle on Coleman is to help Kingy, bring him in as his number 2.

I wouldn’t hate giving king a crack at it. And if he had that kind of support then it could work. But there’s no way he should be considered for the managers job.

That was going from the bigger to smaller club, and Pearson left for non-footballing reasons.

Seen O'Rourke's explainer is Andy King worked with Coleman when he was Wales manager. Still don't believe it, but if King is actually suggesting this, I'm scared! Being a mentor is one thing, but no way should be be managing the club.

Both ex Middlesbrough centre back vibes. Wouldn't be against Mowbray getting a chance

This is it though - people think he's another Pearson and would make a Pearson-like impact and as far as I can tell it's largely because of things that aren't actually anything to do with what they're like as managers. The assumption seems to be that he's a stern, old-school manager who'll take no shit, instil discipline in the players, go back to basics and get the team organised when at West Brom (and I accept that there is more to a manager than their last job) basically the exact opposite happened and he got sacked with a worse record than Cifuentes had here.

Both have poor records and should be avoided

Rowett really doesn't:

Burton - Good job, got him a gig 2 levels up.

Birmingham - Took them from relegation candidates to 7th a couple of seasons later, before being sacked. Never been to those heights since.

Derby - Got them into the playoffs. Poached by one of the PL clubs coming down.

Stoke - Failed here. But never been close to getting promoted since, so not alone.

Millwall - 3 years of consecutive top half finishes for a club that traditionally yo-yo's between the second and third tier.

Birmingham - Relegated. But hardly there in a chaotic season and took over the job in very unique circumstances. Way better than a point per game return.

Oxford - Kept them in the championship. Sacked with the club in relegation trouble a year later.

I'm not advocating him and totally understand not wanting him but actually look at those jobs and he's only had 1 big failure at Stoke, who have been cack since. Only been sacked another 2 times, 1 of which was clearly the wrong decision and the other one is by a club that must expect to be in a relegation scrap. Not saying he's been amazing either but that's certainly a better CV with some of our recent appointments, and definitely better than plenty of others we're linked with.

Just going back to Dave Challinor again. Compensation might be an issue but he have served a very good apprenticeship at non league and lower league level. Surely somebody is going to take a punt at a higher level. Is giving managers with a proven track record at lower levels beneath us now

He'd be good. And 'exciting'. Maybe not as a name but in terms of backing somebody who was done very well at a lower level

We need a Champiosnhip manager, an old stalwart that knows the division and how to escape it, but would relegate us in the Prem.

No

point getting in so fancy Dan European coach who doesn’t understand the league.

You mean like Middlesbrough, Bristol City, QPR, Norwich and Swansea have done?
And are doing fine with them.
We should follow their example and look abroad.

He’s 100% the sensible choice but no doubt we aren’t even considering him. I’d love it of we tooK a punt on him.

Coleman as kings assistant maybe, but can’t see that.

Now, I think that could be what Pete O'Rourke and Football Insider may have picked up. There was talk yesterday that King would need some 'backup' (Coaching / Technical support), possibly from an older (not necessarily, wiser!) head - and Nige was being mooted as someone who could offer that. Perhaps Rudkin, with his 'in depth footballing knowledge and clever recruitment' of Coleman for Leuven, thinks that he could a job at the KP!

Now, I agree with all on here, that CC would be useless as a permanent Manager, but PERHAPS he could bring some experience to help King out in the SHORT term?

We're skinto.

Lack of transfer activity, deadwood players with inflated wages that are near impossible to ship out and unresolved PSR issues and that's just scratching the surface.

The powers that be will PRAY that Kingy can pull off some kind of Wizardry and get this squad kicking on.

Just seen Rowett and Sale moving into Svens old gaff in Burbage.

Callum Davidson and Rory Delap were helping with some boxes.

Delap could throw them in from the road!

The concerning aspect with him at Stoke, they had just been relegated and had some big egos in the squad, he utterly failed to deal with them. I feel our dressing room his similar. He works best with low budget, honest players, small teams

I’d have rather have kept RVN, I’m pretty sure he would have got up promoted from this division, it’s dogshit
