In fact he probably chose to visit that weekend because he was expecting a win. The sacking was a response to losing that game and because it was a sudden decision there was no succession plan. All well managed clubs have plans in place for eventualities such as a manager leaving or being sacked ... they will have identified potential replacements.... similar to players leaving they will have know who will fill the position.... but that is well managed clubs not leicester city 5

Aleksz Posted 15 February Posted 15 February The simple common sense guess would be is they simply don’t want to A) obviously pay for competition right now and B) they only want someone until the end of the season. At that point they can reevaluate with some actual room to spend and clarity on their league position to attract what/who they want. Can’t imagine there is lots of candidates queuing up to only work until June, with these players, on those terms. 3

Which means they haven't learned their lesson at all when it comes to cheap and convenient appointments. They're going to make the same mistake yet again.

FLAN Posted 15 February Posted 15 February We haven’t really had any whistleblowers on Rudkin have we? Find that strange

trooky Posted 15 February Posted 15 February Roll back 7 months we could have appointed Danny Rohl or Chris Wilder and all would have been fine. Now look at the mess we're in because of Top and Rudkin, roll forward 7 months and the club will be in administration in league 1. 2

I bet if we had Wilder and we were 10th, we would all be seething that we arent top 6 or battling for top 2. What i would take to be 10th right now. I always thought Rohl was never coming here, but we know they interviewed Wilder. 3

It’s complete hindsight but I’m pretty sure we’d be top 10 under Wilder right now. The obsession with a style of play killed us when we should have gone more pragmatic. 2

Who would want to manage a group of players who fall apart after conceding a goal.

I'd put money on it being Skibala I agree, I think Skibala was the 'ambitious appointment'. All the runes last week, were coming down in favour of him . Rowett was probably surprised that Top & Dudkin were not following their normal 'modus operandi' and taking a gamble on a mainly untested guy, but one with great potential. Skibala, could initially have been attracted to a job at a higher level, with his hometown club, but being pretty intelligent (he must have a degree from somewhere,as a Teacher), quickly rumbled we are currently a total basket case (possibly plummeting in the opposite direction to Lincoln) and decided to steer clear.

Bullshit. Top and Rudkin don't know who "Skibala" is. They will pay an agency to put forward some 'clients' who will interview over a 2/3 week period and we pick the cheapest that isn't massively out of by the willy pullers in charge. 1

Tielemans63 Posted 15 February Posted 15 February Obviously there's been some internal strife at Wasserman recently. Maybe no-one has replied to Rudders' '"Can you tell us who our next manager is please?' email as yet. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy0dn4e1njjo Poor old Jon and Top don't know what to do. 2
