You can always go down.

But we've shown we don't have to do a lot to pick up often undeserved points in this league in this season.

If the rot really sets in, we could wander into trouble. Think of us in the 04/05 season.

Regardless of how good some of the individuals in our squad are such as players like Monga, Fatawu, James etc

We can't rely on those individuals to produce moments of magic on a weekly basis. It has to be a team effort.

Unfortunately for us we have too many weak links in our starting 11.

Thomas, Faes, Vestergaard, Soumare all spring to mind straight away.

Going into every match with no threat upfront doesn't help either. It is similar to a boxer fighting an opponent with one hand tied behind his back.

I don’t think we’ll go down this season.

We have enough talent within the squad.

Despite what we all say (myself included) about the likes of Kristiansen, Faes, Vestergaard, Okoli, Soumare, Skipp, Ayew, Daka, Reid, Mavididi; Thomas etc, most of the squads in the Championship would love to have them with their squads.

We have talent.

We don’t have good tactics and a sense or urgency.

Despite this, we will continue to grind our results here and there as the quality in the league is fairly even but we have players like Monga, Ricardo and Fatawu who could generate something from

nothing.

With this in mind, we’ll still finish mid table at worst, even after a points deduction.

It is just so frustrating, as if Fatawu and Monga get picked up by other clubs, we are royally screwed.

Then when half the talent leaves, I’m not sure I have faith in our ability to replace them. This is when we’ll be at risk of dropping further.

That said, we somehow managed to get relegated from the Premier League with the 5th biggest wage bill, whilst having the talents of Maddison, Vardy, Barnes, Tielemans, Evans, Soyuncu, Castagne, Ricardo, Ndidi, Mendy, KDH, Praet and Perez.

It's about creating momentum, the last 5 years or so it has felt like we start the season better than we finish it prem relegation season aside. It would be nice to do it the other way this year. The summer flys by when you have finished strongly, when you Peter to a slow finish the start of the next season feels like a drag. We know as Leicester fans what finishing the season strongly can do to the mood of the next season.

I don't think we'll go down.

That's not because we are good, but just that thankfully there will be 3 worse teams (believe it or not)

I stick by the fact that whilst it's a competitive league, its competitively sh1t.

You don't need to be good to succeed in this league, you just need to be a bit less sh1t than your opposition which is evidenced by a massively mediocre Coventry City somewhat walking the league thus far.

This forum is so much better now the happy clapper threads are back, this alongside the thread where happy clappers are discussing how happy and clappy they are after giving up their STs is brilliant work time toilet break reading.

But no, won't go down, we're useless and have still won 4 matches. We can't score a goal but have still scored over a goal per game I think

Simple answer, no. There are at least 3 teams in this division that are more rudderless than us and are utterly hopeless. Now does that mean when we come to town, they'll turn us over...yeah! But then they'll go back to be useless every game after that.

I don't know what point you're making but the relegation threatened sides would love to have 2 defeats in 10.

We will not go down. We're shit and miles off where we should be but still well ahead of the sides that are going down.

Your highlighting draws like it’s some sort of positive, 1 win in 8

and the teams at the bottom in the last 8 like Portsmouth have won the same amount and coincidentally we drew with them as well.

If you can’t beat the teams at the bottom or struggling for form sooner or later you end up being behind those teams

Draws are positive for a relegation threatened side.

Obviously they're not good for us but look how Wrexham, Portsmouth and Oxford celebrated draws against us.

Statistically, anyone know how many points we actually need to stay up. With 9 point deduction I think this could be very close.

Peterborough once went down with 54 points (although we finished 6th with just 68 points that season, the lowest ever to reach the play offs) - so statistically we need 55 to say we are definitely safe, but it is likely to be lower as currently we have 6 teams averaging less than a point a game

Of course we can, the arrogance and complacency relegated us with a team that should never have gone down.

Continue to lose and draw, confidence further drops, fans booing you and the players that shouldn’t be at the club (I.e Faes) will again halfheartedly try, death spiral.  A relatively good team has zero fight and others down the bottom end will no doubt have more fight than the perceived talent we have. You won’t apply your talent if deep down you don’t care, Ricky says we do but body language of some of your colleagues says otherwise.

I don’t believe we will but we’re slowly walking into negative territory that could spiral out of control.

If we were docked 9 points tomorrow wed be in the relegation zone and the increased tension and hatred coming from the stands combined with the teams and managements already obvious lack of fight and quality would really put us up against it. However that's not going to happen time wise and wel be ok with a deduction later in the season when we already have most of the points needed to stay up and a few other teams already too far gone to really catch us. I do think its inevitable though that with the few scraps of player player quality gone in the summer and the current leadership in the club that we will see league 1 again before the end of the decade.

Mathematically yes we can. Realistically probably not because we do have some quality in the side and the majority of teams in this league are crap and the standard of football is dire.

I can’t see us getting into a relegation battle, as of yet but depends on the points deduction, but I think we will do very well to be in the playoff places by the end of the season, that’s just going off how we’ve performed so far.

Unless we can start scoring with more regularity then yes, we are in danger of getting dragged into a relegation battle especially if any points deduction is 6pts or more. Our last 8 games have yielded just 8pts. Carry that on we'll end up with 53. Minus 6 or more from a deduction and that clearly puts us in a dangerous position.

We need a uptick in form and soon, a string of games with a decent haul of points. If our bad form carries on for much longer, we could be in a real fight.

And do we think we have players who will be up for that? No, I didn't think so.

Honestly such is the nature of the Championship I can easily see us win our next 2 and then everyone talking about promotion again.

A few good/bad results can quickly change everything in this league.

Or we lose the next two games and a lot more people start asking this question :-D

Without a points deduction, no, we are in line for a mid-table finish. With a point deduction, who knows.

Only way we are getting promoted is if somehow stay in touch until Jan and then manage to sign a striker who hits the ground running.

So where do our points come from then?

Our big problems are that we lack pace (and possibly fitness) throughout the side and we don't have a striker worth the name. I've no doubt some our players are better footballers than most in this league, but that doesn't count for much in modern football. Even the terrible sides are outrunning us and tactically we're really easy to play against. I think alot of the games will be tight and I'm hoping some of those start to go our way. But at the start of the season I thought relegation was out of the question and I'm definitely not of that opinion now
