two years back I remember a game where he didn't square it to vardy and put the ball right past the keep - we have not seen that version of mavididi for two  years since.

Thing is a couple of games ago he missed some great chances but at least he got in the position to miss. Nobody else is even doing that so I'd have given him a pat on the back, kept him in the team and told him to keep getting into positions. One goal could change the finishing.

It is worth a try -  we have the squad we have.  IMO each of these guys needs a personal coach to review their decision making (clip by clip) and emphasise the good.  A  sports psychologist might be helpful to each also.
WE should practice corners.

Yeh, certainly gets into positions doesnt he.

Cracking position when stood offside to deny us a goal.

Absolute zero awareness.

Brain dead.

Feeling oddly optimistic today! 3-1 win and the talk suddenly turns back to play offs

It’s the hope that kills you with this lot. I was like you once, forgetting we’re a shambles on a match day reasoning it’s 11 men v 11 men. But if you have low expectations then anything else other than a pathetic performance makes for a much more healthy mindset 🤣

Add to his step overs, cutting back into a defender he has already turned, choosing not to attempt a cross and ignoring VK who made overlaps and then passing backwards.

He was good under Enzo when KDH slotted the ball to him when they were attacking and he would shoot on instinct. Our team are too thick to over think situations.

Genuinely think Vesty would be our best striker, but we need his passing from the back

No.  I'm not against playing a big lump centre back up front, given our other options, but not Vestergaard.  Glacially slow and pathetic in the air given that he is half yeti.

If i remember rightly, he went really sh1t under Enzo too.

Took him to get dropped to pick up some form.

Don't even see potential in him anymore, just looks completely broken.

He's the only player we have who has decent off the ball movement and gets on the end of chances.

Much rather him than someone like Ayew.

Probably an unpopular opinion but Monga and Fatawu havent been much better than Mavididi.

Monga rightly gets away with it because of his age and inexperience,  and the fact we know his potential.

A couple of wonder goals have completely plastered over Fatawu being not just ineffective, but actually a bombscare at times. Dribbling towards his own goal, smashing daft aerial passes to our own defenders, clumsy challenges etc..

Sargent still has 5 goals this season despite how bad their team has been.

Despite their league position, and I haven’t seen them play I’ll be honest, but I struggle to believe they can be bad enough to not make easy work of us, especially when they still carry a goal threat with Sargent.

All Mavididi has done this season is cost us points, he also has zero goal contributions.

There is zero discipline and awareness in this team and zero tactics that are locked in.  The ease at which IG players are happy to put someone else under pressure.  From JV slowing everything down to then role the ball and pass sideways, to Soumare blasting the ball backwards without even looking.

Mistakes are repeated and players rewarded with game time.  Ayew should've been made to explain to the team why he stopped running under no pressure last week and ignored the forwards to pass back. The idiot didn’t even think to know it into space for wingers to run onto.  Thick players being “managed” by a Sunday dad. Let’s them do what they want so they like him.

To be fair to Ayew, he looked right out of puff near the end last week

He struggling for form and confidence. Our support doesn't do ourselves any favours by demanding zero errors from our players.

Stephy can do it. Back him.

Garbage like Thomas and BdcR and Carranza couldn't do a fcking thing if their confidence was sky high and everything went their way..

Calling out the bad players is different to calling out good/decent players are who just happen to be  playing bad

That doesn’t stop him passing the ball, even more reason to bring others into the game.  Why be a focal point between midfield and attack if you don’t pass the ball. He’s a greedy, useless lump who is stinking out the team everyone we play. A constant reminder  of Cooper.

Was he out of puff at the start of the game when we had a fast counter, he stopped still with no pressure, ignored all the runners, turned around and passed backwards.  The whole stadium groaned. He needs booing every time he passes backwards or stops.

Clearly feels that he’s better than the rest of the team, so no point in passing to them.

This is where the manager should be drilling into them actual tactics and passages of play.  Mavadidi isn’t good enough to get and skin several players and then use his brain to bring others into the game.  He does two things, pass backwards or lose the ball trying to do too many step overs and ignoring a quick cross. These are things that would be addressed by a manager with a clue.

It’s insane.  Two games ago we were chasing a goal and he kept ignoring Faes who was right next to him unmarked.  Instead he kept holding on to the ball.

As soon as you see him twisting and turning the attack is over.  He’s going over and we get countered.
