Much needed home win and now taken 7 out of last 9 points on offer, performances are still way off but a win is a win and at the moment it’s about accumulating points and ensuring even after the points deduction we are well clear of relegation battle and still in with a chance of catching the top 6.

Not sure performances will massively improve until a few of the injured players return and we can hopefully freshen the squad up in January; it’s massively needed.

Missed the game was working, seen a few of there chavs in town before the game glad we beat them.

Still think we need to change it with Skipp not starting, offers nowt.

Happy Mav and Daka got a goal hopefully gives them some confidence in the next games.

A good result but thought we were poor and offered very little going forward as usual. It's also very ****ing boring to watch.

Needs more playing around at the back.

Good result obviously but a difficult watch for the most part, particularly the second half. Whether deliberate or not we made things much harder than they needed to be by completely ceding the initiative, and not for the first time. This can't really continue to be the way we see out games, I don't think.

Very pleased for the goalscorers, both of whom badly needed something to go their way. Some hit from Mavididi on his weaker foot and Daka took his well - should have had another but his work rate was excellent throughout. Pleasantly surprised by Begovic and Skipp. Full backs on the other hand were rank, James again not quite the same force at no.10 which is no surprise at all, Fatawu pretty anonymous for much of the game but did ultimately come up with the goods despite playing in a team that almost looks deliberately designed to make him suffer and break his spirit.

Two hugely underwhelming sides in Boro and Stoke are 2nd and 3rd, and we're three points off the latter despite having won 3 of our last 12 games and being largely crap all season. This division is wretched which I think will make our eventual failure to get promoted from it all the more dispiriting.

Showing some grit to see it out was good to see

That’s the main take from this match isn’t it

Obviously at 1-0 it was alarm bells

Made much better by being able to somehow score again before we went back to bed

3pts. Cannot complain at all with that. Mavididi was exceptional.

People complaining too much. Yeah JJ looks better coming onto the ball rather than a 10, but its that sort of game we'd have crumbled and conceded a few weeks back.

Happy for Daka to score but that miss was comical how it went through his legs.

Defended well enough to see that out, which was the most pleasing thing I think. A silly switch off at the start of the second half lets them back into it. Was never worried when they were going forward that they were going to score tbh. We did ok in spells but there’s scope for so much better.

Stoke a horrible team. Tried to kick lumps out of us and managed to get away with it for a lot of the game.

Because when every team says you’re the worst team they’ve faced…. Guess what?

I know we are the pits right now, but even more reason to celebrate when we actually do win, no?

Not the best, but I’ll take that. Happy to have watched on the box as all three goals were down the far end of the pitch from my seat. Delighted to get three points and happy that the fans who braved the weather got something for a change
