It’ll be a close game. United have a bit of confidence, but those wins have come against the leagues bin juice in Wednesday and Pompey.

I think we’ll sneak this one 2-1.

We struggled against both.

My prediction - wheels will come off in spectacular fashion today, 1-4 defeat with Hamer, O’Hare, Bamford and then to add salt in the wounds Cannon with the goals for them. Atmosphere is toxic until 4th goes in when the ground largely empties and Marti’s departure announced some time tomorrow.

Yeah I’m with you on this one think we’ll get spanked.

If we are gonna sack him it makes sense either way after this game or the Ipswich one.

On one hand i want us to win.

However it depends on the nature of that win. If we scrape another win that keeps the fraud in the job then its not worth the 3 points.

If we lose and he gets sacked its best for future of the club

Can’t agree here. Marti is crap but a few things really;

You're giving Aiyawatt/Rudkin too much credit to think he will be sacked anyway.

If he is sacked, a new manager is not a magic fix. You may get a couple of results in the immediate term but it will be the same old type of manager and chosen by the incompetent ones above.

A manager change doesn’t fix the fundamental problems at this club. Whether it’s Marti or another, all we can really do this season is try and get to 50 points plus what we might need on top to avoid relegation in the event of the deduction.

This isn’t a Marti in comment. It is a case of I’d rather hope we just get 3 points any which way, rather than hypothetically hoping for a defeat, to hypothetically want the manager sacking in the faint hope things might improve. All when the goal is just avoiding relegation.

I'd take that

Nearly 20 years ago to the day, we beat Sheff UTD 4-2. As a ten year old that was my highlight for the whole season during my first as a season ticket holder (apart from beating Spurs 3-2). I thought Ryan Smith was the best player in the championship . I’m going 4-2 to us for nostalgia purposes.

Do we think we'll have the lowest home crowd this season so far? I really just don't want to go and before this season I've not really had the same feeling before.

Decent odds for away win bookies clearly think we’re better than we are

We’ve had better results than our standard of play deserves.

Reckon we'll scrape a win, but it'll be like the Stoke game where it was a generally miserable affair.

Meh. I've long since stopped caring.

Well go 1 down then get an equaliser just before HT. Come out all guns blazing for the 2nd half only to concede 2 goals on the counter attack/mistakes of our own doing.

Nah. It'll be a bob stain of a performance. Go 1-0 down and then just get soggy mess after that.

0-3 comfortable loss, I reckon.

I suppose it depends on what the club think is realistic. Top's recent pronouncements appeared to be the first public admittance that we have some problems that are going to take time to resolve. Maybe they realise mid table is the best we're going to get, in which case sacking a manager that has us in mid table is a bit pointless. Let's be honest, promotion would just lead to another relegation even if it happened under another manager

This home fixture against this opponent has a similar vibe to it as it infamously did for Martin O'Neill in 1996! However that was the turning point for him/the team, I doubt today will be for this lot, 29-30 years on!

I think that Marti is being strongly encouraged to play certain players so they are in the shop window for the January window.

Surely if we want to sell them the last thing we’d want to do is let them on the pitch?

This could be our first proper drubbing of the season, these have got goalscorers and you know that Wilder won’t be afraid of changing things in game if it’s not going their way ( I’ve not seen enough evidence to suggest that Marti can do the same)

They’re also coming on the back off 6 goals in their last 2 games

I can see a 2/3-1 to Sheff U putting massive pressure on Marti!
