Could you imagine what last season would have been like if Winks was this good. 
 

Lots going on in his game, and delighted it’s clicking for him. Needs to be a bit more selfish in front of goal, but that will come in time. Just carry on doing what you are doing.

Braybrooke is the player Winks fans think Winks is.

Feels really special seeing him and Alves combine in a blue shirt. I think most fans have been aware of them both for 4-5yrs but injuries, loans (some good, some bad) and maybe some managerial decisions have robbed us of the chance. Couple of misweighted passes from Braybrooke aside they looked to have a good understanding.

Tbf Winks is purely a pivot, Braybrooke is playing as a more attacking 8. Page took the Pivot role and was far more dynamic than Winksy was last season.

Thought both Sammy and Alves were superb last night. Bothe were tiring towards the end though so we need to protect these 2 future stars over the season.

We dont need them to burn themselves out.

The football may not be brilliant but I'll keep tuning in to see all our academy players and it would be great if we can field a full 11 of academy lads at some point in the near future.

Braybrooke is doing fantastic tbf, lets just hope we get him to sign a contract asap.

 

TBF, I really think this season in League One is great for Sammy's development. To be getting so many minutes and really standing out is good to see. He would be fine in the Championship atm but I think this season in L1 will really pave the way for him to look great in the Championship next seasion (fingers crossed that is with us!)

A few of their midfield were trying to leave one on him a few times and he didn't back down.

 

Surprisingly quick as well. 

 

Felt like he was trying a bit too hard last night but was still a standout player. Amazing what two midfielders that are happy to turn on the ball will do for your team.

You would think that the Vertu trophy game will not be far off that.

Best bit of business we can do this season is getting Braybrooke a contract sorted asap. Annoys me that he never got a chance in a horrific championship squad.

 

The lad absolutely oozes class and I love seeing him want the ball and looking to make something positive happen. Which I'd really expect from any midfielder playing the game professionally, but it's been a rare commodity for us recently.

The more he gets on the ball in a game, the more I enjoy it.

 

As others have pointed out though, it's the acadmey lads that are making the games watchable at the moment.

 

Sammy should've come off around 80 minutes last minute though, it was almost walking football for him towards the end...shouting at the ball boys to slow down!

Especially given neither should have been playing. Alves had just played in the cup for the 1st team and Braybrooke was going on loan.

He will get so many assists this season if he improves his final decision making but that will come. Brilliant player, genuinely brilliant as well not just because he’s a local lad.
