For me, this one half good, one half bad is incredibly frustrating.

But, actually, even though he had a recent period of absolute guff, we've emerged from it largely the same as the start of the season with the exception - and it's a massive exception, really - that we're now actually scoring goals during our good spells.

Something needs to be done about how we allow teams back into games. Yes, momentum is a thing in football. But we have to still be able to control games if a team scores a flukey goal to make it 3-1.

Maybe we just don't quite have the personnel. Maybe with a little more experience, our younger players may be able to come on and see games through with comfort. Maybe we also need signings.

But this is a side that appeared to down tools last season. It's also still a side that appears weak when pressured. But Cifuentes has them playing some good stuff at times and I think he needs time to build a squad and get past whatever financial penalties we'll incur. I think he could build a decent side here.

I thought that was a totally fine performance. Even I can’t blame Marti for how that ended. All on Stolarczyk but whatever!

7 points from those last 3, about 150 minutes of solid football too.

You can't complain at that, but some will.

I guess the big complaint would be that it very easily could have been 9. But I agree, things are looking a lot better.

We were dominant.  Completely untroubled.  And then.

What evil force has transplanted Danny Ward’s brain into Stolarczyk?

Danny Ward will forever haunt this football club.

Last Saturday morning we'd have taken the last three results and 7 (yes I did put 8!!😂) points from two difficult away fixtures and a tough (on paper) home game. Pity we didn't get all 9. Yes, there are undoubtedly some fragility issues, but we are starting to look like we're getting stability and shape. Time for a cracking Christmas period and into the top 6 hopefully.

He seems calm on the ball and picking up the space that always gets left by the RB.  Nothing fancy but nothing overtly risky which is great after Faes.  I want him to score from one of Thomas’ long throws.

I recall Enzo praising him for his passing and wanting him to be braver on the ball. I’m looking forward to his development.

Very pleasing and surprising result. Really enjoyable first half for obvious reason but also because it looked like every player was focused on the task. We started the second half well. At half time I was thinking of the last time I enjoyed a half like that.

My issue is the Hamza for Bobby sub. It was the 65th minute and the passage of play just before that was the lovely cross from James that nearly led to a chance. We were the team on top. The manager by making that sub on the 65th minute not only removes our 10 (and a very effective 10 at this level) but also means James moves into a position he isn’t the best at. James in the 6/8 is one of the best in this division, he’s no where near effective in the 10.  We hand the initiative over to a side who were on the ropes by one switch.

We let teams back in because of this switch and I just get frustrated with the manager.

all said and done, that first half was very positive. As was the first v Derby. The players are playing for us. And we are 8th. Just sort this issue out - and we remain dominant for 75/80 mins and not 30/40 we are currently seeing.

3-1 v an in form Ipswich is not joke and deserves a lot of credit.
