I would be shocked if there wasnt already a clause that voids the transfer if relegated.

1% this happens

99% he signs for Ipswich or someone.

Sign him permanently and build a team around him.

Next Steven Gerrard.

The amount of time spent injured is a concern. Was clearly playing at about 30% yesterday. He has a lot to do to sort his fitness out.

Best believe he won’t be injured at all at his new club

No chance he plays for us in L1, we'll buy and immediately sell.

Brother, why are you so obsessed with this transfer lol

I'm willing to bet a £10 donation to a charity of your choice that he never signs for us at all, even as a technicality before he's sold elsewhere. It's just not happening, let it go.

I feel like you've posted more than anyone else in this thread convincing everyone we're definitely signing him because you chose to read one of Mickey's posts in a pretty selective way.

The replies were mainly about bridge transfers and loans with options rather than James himself. Its not obsession over this transfer. Its correcting misinformation, as I too initially thought this would be a bridge.

Then it was about what a loan option means with people making statements which make the "option" redundant.

I haven't said we are definitely signing him once. I've said we can't afford not to. And I've said we should sign him and sell him on. Which we should.

Are you just jumping in because Mickeys post contradicts your opinion?

Even if we should sign him with the contract signed at the loan signing, Rennes won’t have an issue selling him, and we can’t afford £5 mill so both parties would happily walk away from the deal! He isn’t joining us permanently even for a few days.

Nothing ever came to light of Marti comments in January of ‘we have a plan for him for this month’ or something similar?

He's the most Wrexham signing going.

Cov.

He's a Midlands lad, lives out that way already and his family are presumably around about that area.

He's definitely ready for a shot at the Prem and I doubt he'd cost them that much.

I think there's a realistic case to say we sign him and loan him out.

Agree - I think from memory this out of all the deals was the one that was a mandatory clause. They’re too stupid to have even considered relegation and a no option in that event.

Something we should have done more of in the past. Leeds and Fulham have always done it well. Aaronsen is the perfect example at Leeds!

We loaned Kristiansen and Thomas to higher leagues in 23/24 lol Worked out well...

He won’t play for us again in L1, be interesting to see if we can sign him though and loan him out straight away. Didn’t Abraham do that at Villa signed for someone and two days later left for 8m more to go there?

We dont have a pot to piss in. We arent paying money for anyone, nevermind 5m to then not even have him in our team 😂

If we can't afford a £5m buy out for a £15m player then we're doomed.

The willy pullers in charge will throw absolutely everything at getting back to the Championship after this shower of shit of a decline. If it means future points deductions, who the **** cares at this point. This whole  attempt to stay within the lines started with finishing 8th, selling Fofana for £70m and signing ****ing Faes and Smithies to compensate for losing Kasper. It's without a doubt more beneficial to overspend than miserably fail and barely pass to comply.

£5m for James is a ****ing bargain, you gather up all your loose change and make him play, **** a loan. Luton doubled and spent £2.5m and didn't exactly rake it in. We'll have absolute shit loads gone this summer and that's without considering BEK, and Faes. If we don't get James it'll be because Jon Rudkin ****ed it up in the summer.

We are doomed doomed.

We will be AFC Leicester or Leicester Fosse again with a few years. Macquire bank will be coming for its money. We’ve got a £50m loan taken out against next years premier league TV money we arrogantly thought we would be getting…. And that’s just one of about 10 outstanding loans we have them against all pretty much all real and imagined future revenue streams.

There is next to no money we can recover that we haven’t already borrowed against. On paper, we look absolutely fecked.
