Miserable.

 

Jakub getting peppered and confidence is shot to pieces. 

There are 2 Luke Thomas' - the one that looks like an average Championship defender and one that looks like he is 5 seconds behind the rest of the game. Today he was horrific.

Okoli is the worst passer of the ball i have seen. The other CB has to protect him from his mistakes

Nelson needs protecting from this sh1t.

Riccy P is woeful - its like watching an old Riccy P tribute band. Useless Captain and has no legs.

Skipp - we've grown to accept him because he's not been complete garbage lately. But when the going gets tough, he is nowhere to be seen.

JJ - Poor game, and looked really pissed off

Bobby - Can't be playing this much football and the fixture list caught up with him. Again, when it gets tough he doesnt show up.

Fatawu is garbage, and now concerned we have massively overrated him. Scoring the worldies is actually the worst thing that could have happened to him. Needs to get the basics right.

Mavididi - runs around a lot, but is delivering nothing.

Silko - seems like he was asked to just run around a lot. Kids got legs for sure, but presumably the 'run around on your own' role takes a bit of experience.

 

God knows how this lot prepare for games. There are some decent prospects in there that need protecting from this junk.

Pitiful ‘display’. Being to the left of the goal, the lack of communication between any of the players is incredible, but not surprising. Nobody talking at the corners, Stolarczyk looked like a rabbit in the headlights waiting for the ball to come in. Gutless performance. Mavididi was shameful. Was blowing after 25mins, should never have started the game, and his half hearted leg dangles (sorry challenges 😂) were symptomatic of our overall display. Monga did more in his cameo than Stephy all game. 
 

No team ethic, no cohesion. A group of individuals with no leaders and some kids chucked in. Looked better with Monga and Page one, but who is there to guide them when the going gets tough. I feel for any manager who inherits this ‘squad’ but he should be getting more from them than this. 
 

Sheff U weren’t even that good! They just boxed clever, won the physical battles and duels and bullied us. More streetwise all over the pitch. We gave up as soon as it started, it was just inevitable how the game went. Just a sorry state. Made it an easy decision not to go on Monday night. 
 

What a sorry state this club is. New year, same old same old.

In my view, you can always see a team is in trouble when they have an on pitch, pre kick off huddle.

We had one tonight. I would love to know what they were saying to each other. It was probably along the lines of,

'Anyone understand what Marti was saying in the dressing room? No? Me neither.

Our wingers are awful.  They are petulant & sulky, always risk yellows, don't work hard enough to provide meaningful help to the fullbacks, make many mistakes of judgement on the ball.  Neither are team players.  In any other team they would be censured by the more experienced players and given coaching help by the manager.  This doesn't seem to happen.

 

I watched the whole game tonight and didn't realise BCDR was in the team - my bad, perhaps, but I can't think of anything he did of note.

 

As for Luke Thomas, I used to feel sympathetic for his loss of confidence but I have to admit now that he has gone consistently bad - very poor in positioning and anticipation of threats, ludicrously weak & uncommitted in the tackle.

 

I could go on.  How anyone can think that our youngsters e.g. Aluko and Page, can be any worse is beyond me.  Chances are they'll improve and adapt rapidly, which is good for this season and a no-brainer in terms of progression and the future of the club.

 

I personally thought that on the whole there was effort from the players tonight but our set-up is so poor and disjointed that a lot of the effort is to no effect. One of the worst consequences if out team structure is that somehow we have both fullbacks isolated in defence, yet our wingers are usually unsupported in our rare attacks.

 

Even with the limited options at his disposal Cifuentes must take a lot of the blame because he fails in every aspect of management.

As a pro , how can you rock up on a Monday to training  and not be thoroughly ****ed off ?

 

Agh wait, the 50k a week + should help ease the pain

i mean, what was the point in diving? We would have simply passed the ball back to Jakub with the free kick.

Marti got this massively wrong today. 
 

Should’ve rotated and introduced fresher legs and tried to combat their 4-4-2 with a 5-3-2.

 

Once again, he failed.

It's pretty ****ing bleak isn't it.

 

Still don't think that sacking the manager will change much but what choice do we have at this point.

They pressed us off the park, won every second ball. They seemed to have players all over pitch, where as it felt we had no one out of our 3rd for most of the game.

 

Fancy formations don't really matter if you do the basics right.

Wilder's latest iteration is a 4-4-2 out of possession, 4-2-3-1 in possession. Was quite clever really. 

 

Cannon and Bamford were the two and O'hare and Brooks went left and right when out of possession. 

 

Then going forward Cannon and Brooks were the wide men in the 4-2-3-1.

 

It's probably why they dropped off a bit after 60 mins, the system needs an out and out 9 and that's when Bamford came off.

FM a whingeing damning indictment which I agree every word of. Mavi gives the ball away every single time. He's been absolutely horrendous for the last month or so. 

 

Thomas you'd be checking for any medical conditions the lad has as he's been ****ing abysmal more or less all season

Probably the same as you could hear once you switched off. Nothing from the team to get the crowd lifted or excited.

The big difference was:

 

They have a well drilled squad by a seasoned championship manager

 

We have a dogshit squad coached by a third rate clueless clown.
