Any competent  DOF would have the manager in the office for a  bollocking, sort it out or ship out .I don't suppose  he even know these stats are out there .Now it's on national TV it's even more damming.

It's just indicative of where we are.

In sport, you make up shortfalls in your performance by either:

A) Ability and quality

B) Effort

We've got neither the ability, nor the quality and its awful to watch. Bar the odd wonder goal and Jordan James who isn't even our player for ****s sake, we have nothing.

The manager could actually play players who are able to put in the miles, but chooses not to.

A dyche character would immediately give the fittest/strongest/fastest players metrics to work to - and so take the pressure off a bit.

Our manager prefers the weak, the lame, the asexual

Lack of fitness has been a big issue for a long time.  Not just under Marti either.  It's shocking.

Watch a Premier League game, the fitness levels are off the scale compared to us right now.  If by some miracle we do go up, we'll get absolutely smashed every week.

Thing is I don't even think it's all down to laziness (though there is a helping of that!)

When you have no outlet upfront and no apparent game plan, it's no surprise we're not running.

It's plain to see when we have the ball in our possession. Everyone is looking at the next guy wondering what they should be doing with the ball. So we pass it a couple of times and then inevitably either aimlessly hoof it, or lose it.

And we tend not to need to run back that much because we rarely commit men forward.

There was also another stat showing we’d only won about 30% of duels tonight

To be fair on this one, they were a much taller side.

The sprints and distance covered stats are pathetic though. Simply indicative of the approach we have, which goes through the manager but comes from above. The lack of care and leadership from the top filters its way down to the pitch.

All you need to do, generally, to beat us is work and run harder, and press us high up the pitch.

They also had a stat for ground duel which they were winning comfortably.

It’s harder to cover more distance when you’re constantly in your own half passing backwards.

This needs splitting down to individual players too

This, I think a massive chunk will come from Ayew up top not being physically able to cover the ground and our full backs flat out refusing to overlap or make any movement, feel like James, Skipp and Reid cover a fair amount of ground in a 90

It's been pretty obvious for a number of years (since we moved to the £100m 5 star hotel and health and wellness spa at Seagrave, ironically) that we haven't been anywhere near it fitness wise. We are outran and out-desired by every team we play.

Steve Cooper had them fit and running for the short time he was here. If he stayed it may of gone a long way to having a chance of actually staying up.

I distinctly remember Dean Smith commenting on it when he arrived too.

It comes down to culture, leadership and desire... and we have none.

I really don't like the way Cifuentes sets out the team, but he has always said he styles his teams to Johan Cruyff's philosophies. The fact they aren't running as much as other teams isn't surprising.

Of course, Cruyff was referring to teams with elite and intelligent footballers. Cifuentes trying to force that style onto this set is what makes for such rotten football.

Simple if you don't run as far, or with as much intensity as other teams and lose more aerial and ground duel you aren't going to be very good.

We win games we moment of individual brilliance like Fatawu goal.

But we lose games because you can't out scoring the bad stuff all the time.

I nearly lost my shit tonight as Okoli carried the ball forward wondering wtf he was going to do with it and Bobby Reid was just strolling behind him.

Not been down to a game for a while and the slowness was genuinely shocking.

Also that stupid goal kick routine where Nelson passes to Jakub can **** all the way off.

I was going to make a joke about us not needing to move so much because our possession is so perfectly orchestrated but you've ruined it now.
