I was thinking about this at the weekend. We have (now) managed 63 points since the start of last season in 66 games. An appalling record yet at least a third of those, probably more, were totally undeserved. 

 

We are fluking not being even worse than we are.

Sounds like we offered very little attacking-wise, but arguably that's one of our better defensive performances of the season with an expected goals conceded of 1.01 against an in-form Wrexham.

 

And we actually did more tackles, interceptions and blocks than the opposition, and won more ground duels. That might be a first this season! Looks like this back four might be the way forward, the basics were better (and thankfully no Luke Thomas!).

 

Another positive is we keep going. 

 

But what a bore, criminal how he doesn't get more from Mavididi and Fatawu. Ayew is not a striker either - with the talent in this team, there should be so much more than this. It's such a pain to watch.

The only positive I’m taking from tonight is that Daka didn’t come on when Ayew was terrible and on the verge of being sent off and Soumare didn’t come on when both central midfielders got injured. Must be on the verge of moves.

I remember Moyes got a lot of West Ham by taking them from the worst team in the league on sprints to one of best. We need something similar. The players simply don’t work hard enough.

Probably one of the worst performances of the season. Absolute garbage, rubbish, not a noteworthy incident before the goal. I'm now standing with the Wrexham waiting the train back to Chester. Joys.
