I’m fairly sure even if they weren’t employed by the club, people like Nige or Wes would pick up the phone if Kingy rang asking for some advice

King will probably just take some training sessions. And he MIGHT be  in charge for the next game. You don’t really need to get a team together for that..

The club is going to take 2-4 weeks to identify and appoint a new manager, like it always does.

That’s Rodgers, Cooper, RVN and now possibly Cifuentes when the manager has been sacked and then the search for the replacement is commenced from a standing start afterwards, despite the urgency of the situation

I'd be shocked if King changes anything, either Cif was an arrogant bellend who refused to listen to Kings ideas or King had **** all say in anything and is just the PR stunt alot of us think he was.

Im pretty sure that the Marti Fraud was an arrogant bellend who refused to listen to any ideas that why he persisted with this shit pass it out from the back tactic even though it was blatantly clear we don't have the players to do it. One improvement King can make is to go more direct, better organise the midfield. The way we played was completely on the fraud and his delusional idea of how football should be played.

What’s available currently though?

Missing another, left back, centre back, two major midfielders with injury, 3 with Winks.

The cupboard is bare.

This is about organisation, defensively particularly, increased work rate & effort for as close to 90 mins as possible and a no BS/passenger culture.  Hard taskmaster required, is Kingy that??

Certainly a change of tactics required, we have had 29 games this season & many last playing slowly from side to side & backwards, that has failed abysmally, time for a more dynamic approach.

He does do a decent park run 5km though😉

I agree, we are up shxt creek

There’s a completely untapped and deliberately ignored bunch of PL winners who are dying to help out their old club and presumably also their former teammate

Probably for little money too, as they’ll know our plight.

But like I say- they’re deliberately overlooked. It’s almost taboo to this regime to even think about them, never mind employ them. Which is very strange given it’s the same (pretty much) regime they won the league with

Yep, anyone who went to see them at de monfort hall they would love to come back in some form but they have never been asked. Now more than ever just to have them around the training ground would be really beneficial

makes sense, so absolutely won’t happen

Wouldn't be adverse to Mike Stowell coming back. Knows the club inside out, and seems to talk a lot of sense when he has guested on RL.

That would mess up the clubs plan to blame him and Sadler for our original relegation ;)

King could do with someone like Taggert beside him. Knows the Club and the game and wouldn't be intimidated by any of the players.

He might be happy were he is though doing the Match Broadcasts.

Get Frank Burrows back as well in that case

People seem to forget that King went missing in almost every big game we had, content to not take any game by the scruff of the neck and never touted as a locker room leader. He was always a solid 7/10 player but nothing more and sometimes less.

He's a solid servant to the club and legend but he's unlikely to be leadership material or reach the status of a great coach.

If King sets them up exactly the same as Marti has done and allows them to act the same way, then he can get in the bin and find somewhere else to learn his trade.

The temp managers before Smirh came in wasted games doing exactly what Brendon did.

Whoever takes over next doesn’t need to waste time watching them in training, they need to watch the previous games to see their mistakes and what they can and can’t do.

The problem with our managers picking players that look good in training is they are playing against us, of course they will look good.

I'm someone that's told people repeatedly to stop calling for King as the manager because he's seriously lacking in experience and expecting him to be ready for the shit show of our club as a first senior job would be insane.

With that said, he's not an idiot and he's extremely serious about progressing as a coach.

He was doing the FAW coaching pathway for a while and they don't **** around. Whatever you think about Welsh football, the FAW have gone all in on coaching courses and are gaining recognition as one of the best in Europe.

He's had a pretty solid education up to now, he's not just going to lead one or two pointless sessions to keep the squad busy then throw them out in a generic 442.

And I don't really think he deserves to be tarred with the failure of Cifuentes.

End of the day, for better or worse, he's in charge for now we may as well give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him well.

People were pleased to see BBM go because he 'must have had influence over Ruud' but turns out he's quite good too lol

the set up wasn’t so much the issue.. it was what appeared to be the lack of interest from the players and failure to fight for every ball., their ability to let their heads drop very quickly and the complete inability of Martin to get them playing , together, for a whole game.

i think if you have the right manager, pretty much any set up could make us more competitive than what we have been so far this season..

right manager AND the right set up,  we’d be flying!

So basically, if we change absolutely everything then things will be different?

just for the record, I think he’ll make a great manager one day. The problem  He’s just been a first team coach for less than a year. I don’t think that’s enough experience to , with no money to spend, drag us out of the absolute car crash of a situation we are in.
