Wish I could remember who it was but at the final ever game at Filbert Street they brought onto the pitch a host of club legends going back to the 1920s and I can still remember my dad pointing out after he was announced that one of them retired from football to become a postman because it was better pay. Can't remember who but I think he was from the 60s/70s era.

He retired when he was 36 which was a decent age to play till. Was a typically clever Scottish player of that era. Linked up brilliantly with Stringy.

As in their surname is a trade, not like Danny Ward has a secondary income as a goalkeeper impersonator. I get it. But have nothing to add!

I imagine our incomings for the next couple of years will genuinely have second jobs.

Hooper in American English

(ˈhuːpər, ˈhupər)

noun

"a person who makes or puts hoops on barrels, tubs, etc".;

Also Cooper:

"A cooper is a highly skilled craftsperson who makes and repairs wooden, staved vessels—most commonly barrels, casks, vats, and buckets—using traditional tools and methods"

My god, the state of this thread!

it isn’t that tricky!

Pearsons lad - porn star

It obviously is, as it's meant to be surnames of former players that are professions, not alternative professions of former players. (I think)
