You’re not wrong, probably the best recruitment in years. He was our best player at creating big chances (ones likely to lead to a goal) in that first championship year by a country mile and I believe the best in the league too. Our best last year too alongside most goal contributions just ahead of Jordan James who most people didn't have a bad word to say about. He isn't part of there group of players who've been badly recruited and stunk the place out, you can tell his dropped off at back end of season but like JJ he did try but was surrounded by dog shite. 

 

If we hadn't fallen through the league's we could probably demand more. But one thing is certain we won't have a player like him for a long long time. Think Riley Carr is exciting but he has a long way to go to get anywhere near his output.

It will be a while till we have a player of his quality. Wild that people are slamming him and think 20 mill is a good deal. This is a massive negative, such a shame that we have to deals

like this. Another year goes by and the weaker we get. Good luck to him.

He didnt defend and track back putting pressure on the full back behind him when we needed him too, he also shpuld have been benched weeks before relegation was confirmed,  glad hes gone was part of the problem that was disguised by his goals and on the ball work when he had it.

He became too predictable with his attacking move and teams soon identified how to stop him

20 mil plus 4mil in performance bonuses implies there was a bidding war for him. Highest fee paid for a player in league one. Helps us immensely. Great player, no doubt he will go to a super club in the not too distant future.

He was unreal in the first season under Enzo (created by far the most big chances in the league) but was way off those levels in general play last season after his big injury in the PL season.

 

On his day he is unplayable but for the last 3 months of last season he was truly awful, registering very few goal contributions and constantly making poor decisions on the ball and losing possession. But given the toxic atmosphere around the club, the inept coaching staff and the attitude of the players around him, I guess it made it hard for him to play to his true potential. 

 

Overall, however, he was a great signing for us and it's a shame he's going. All the best, Abdul.

You can't just blame it on managers. He's had plenty of opportunity to watch and learn from the movement, passion and commitment of the likes of Jordan Ayew and Harry Winks to develop his game.

 

What do they say, you can take a horse to water..

I would say that Fatawu was responsible for 90% of the good moments of last season, obviously not saying much but so for that I wish him all the best!

He's got loads of potential and unfortunately, with the constant changing of managers and his injury, he's not quite sorted out his decision making etc.

I didn’t get the hate he got from last season considering he created magic moments by himself and tried to carry the team over the line at times. He definitely wasn’t our biggest problem last season and deserves to move forward with his career. He will turn out to be a proper tidy player. Good luck to him.

There's a tendency to not tolerate players who show one extreme to another vs less able players who just keep things ticking over and are solid and dependable. I get it to a degree but what many of you are asking for from him is a bit rich.

Even Barnes and Mahrez blew hot and cold a little bit, too many people seem to have this expectation that players should almost be without fault and be putting in 8/9s every week. That level of superiority is usually reserved someone who is too good for their level or their playing at the absolute top of their game. Most players have good days and bad days and it is certainly what you would expect (at least to some extent) with anyone who is playing up top, as a 10 or out wide on the wing.

 

Fatawu was certainly frustrating but how many wingers we've had over the years haven't been frustrating?

The man has a lot of potential. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him well.

 

I like fatawu, hope he grows his game because it would be a shame to see his potential talent wasted.

He had glimpses of being brilliant the majority of the time he was bang average , very predictable in his play ,he would  cut in and rather looking for the pass, he would blast it over the bar, that happened on so many occasions

We got relegated, the whole team was piss poor no thanks to Top and Rudkins constantly poor strategy over theast half decade.

 

Abdul was one of the best signings we've made in a long time and regardless of your frustration with what you saw last season (I saw all that too) his attacking stats were our best in the team. Along with Jordan James he will go onto a good career away from absolute that cesspit team that likelybecame horrible to be a part of. Many fans I'd imagine felt the same, RM has a gargantuan task on his hands! 

 

Wish Abdul all the best, I hope he shines in the premier League and brings the same levels and energy he did show.

But will his game develop at Ipswich? They’ll be relegation contenders, so a season of miserable defeats and if he doesn’t change his game him and the Ipswich fans will be frustrated.

I’ll miss him, but so disappointed with the second half of his last season.
