Finley Munroe (LB).

He hasn’t been given a chance at Boro but was great at Swindon last season, 9 goal contributions in 23 matches for them. He might be available on loan.

If we can’t get Ballard or Tolaj, trying a loan move for Davis Keillor-Dunn feels like a no-brainer imo.

Radek Vitek (GK)

Bristol City’s player of the year, players player of the year & young player of the year. He’ll definitely have better suitors than us, but worth a try on loan from Man Utd.

Story by Josh Holland

Both Ayew and Daka scored just six goals across all competitions and next month, they will leave at the end of their contracts. The only natural striker on the books, with first-team experience, is Jake Evans.

The teenager scored two goals in 16 League One games last season for Northampton Town. Next season, with the Foxes now in the third division, he is expected to be given a fair shot in the squad.

But Leicester are almost expected to bring in a more 'senior' striker to the King Power Stadium. One player that must be on their radar is Leyton Orient's Dom Ballard.

The 21-year-old scored 23 league goals for Richie Wellens' side last season, despite them finishing 20th and surviving relegation on the final day. Across the campaign, he netted three hat-tricks and scored a range of goals.

Ballard came through the highly-rated academy at Southampton before plying his trade in the EFL on loan at Reading, Blackpool and Cambridge United. He moved to Orient last summer and quickly proved himself to be one of Wellens' key players.

In the end of season awards, he picked up four awards, including Manager's Player of the Season, Players' Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season. His goal at Cardiff City also meant he won Goal of the Season.

Topping the goalscoring charts across the whole division, Ballard finished joint-top goalscorer in the EFL with Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik.

Interest in him is already building with Wrexham reportedly considering a move for him when the transfer window opens. Orient boss Wellens has already admitted the club may face difficulty in keeping him.

"Do we want to keep him? Absolutely," he said. "But then if someone comes in with a figure that is acceptable to David [Gandler, majority shareholder] and Nigel [Travis, chairman], then we will have to see."

Not worth a try at all as we would have absolutely no chance.

Just to make me feel really old is he related to Brett Ormerod?

Apparently not, even though they are from a similar area

I'm on the Danny Ormerod bandwagon

I really cannot wait to see what absolute duffer of a striker on loan we get this summer

First signing after sorting the manager needs to be the club captain, a proper captain who can lead this club into it's new unwanted chapter. Someone experienced but not over 32 and can set the tone for the rest of the players in the club. We have missed this for years and the one thing that definitely needs to change.

It’s regardless of age, it needs to be a leader and someone that will hold others to account

Priority positions have to be goalkeeper and striker, we need at least two good options for both those positions.

Jakub showed enough in the PL and this season until he picked up his injury to show there is a good goalkeeper there but he needs strong competition. The lack of a decent striker cost us hugely in the final third of the season.

Reason I said under 32 is because then it's long term, not just for one season.

I think a problem is, there are some players we have just broken. So even though ability wise, they would be more than good enough for League 1, they probably need to move on so that the player get a fresh chance elsewhere and we have someone new in.

Jakub is one of those for me. Clearly not a bad egg, tries but just lost confidence more and more as time went on. Fans lost confidence and only has a year left on his contract so it makes sense to cash in even though it’ll only be a very small amount.

Same applies to Nelson. The rest were either the actual kids who didn’t get much of a chance anyway like Page and Aluko or were senior players who all let everyone down massively and who I think we’d all be happy to see the back of any of them!

Yeah, ideally we would want someone who will be the captain for a few seasons.

Looking back to the last time in League One, we had Oakley, who then remained captain for another two seasons after promotion

In terms of experienced leaders, with high work rate, I would take Ben Pearson, should they decide to cancel his contract.

i work with a Stoke fans who reckons he is one of a few, that they may look to ‘let go’

He wouldnt be the most exciting signing but one who could guide whatever youngsters we have left!
