I think we need, among many others, a Steve Howard-style ST. Someone for wingers to cross to, someone decent at hold up play.

 

If we go the more likely route (4-2-3-1 with a rapid CF) then we could do a lot worse than Sidibeh from Stockport. Impressed watching him now.

Wingers that want to play as wingers would be a start.  Both sides are desperate for someone who will run into space as well as actually pass the ball forwards and cross. Back to basics with some added flair not the other way round. 

 

A forward that wants to be in the box will be nice after the last two clowns and whatever that thing from America was.

You know how a few season ago we were chasing madueke, possibly for a couple of seasons…. How do you think he actually would have done for us? 
 

He’s really not that good is he? I can’t imagine he would have been a superstar with us, because most of the time he just runs the ball out of play. Funny thing is, playing every game for us and hitting better numbers he wouldn’t have made the England team but because he’s at a big club he does

He’d look better starting every game for a mid table prem team. Not amazing but not a bad player either

Do you think it's worth a look at Jodi Jones as he ran the show yesterday and looking at his stats, they are very impressive. If we are going to fork out a fee for someone I would love, it to be this guy! Can play down the left and right as a wing back!

At 29 and with lower division experience, could be a good mix with our younger squad - ultimately though, given who we are, clubs will try and drive a hard bargain for any players under contract.

The ground he made up for his goal was impressive and something we have never seen from any of our players for the past two seasons.If not him I would like somebody like him who has the same drive, purpose and determination to get forward and latch onto balls like that. He had a superb game all round.

This transfer thread is going to be utterly disgusting for the next few months- we literally need a whole new squad and the quality of player is going to be absolutely grim - I don’t even know where to start

At the moment, to be able to sign any new players, we need urgent departures....and I mean urgent!!!! We can't afford to wait until later in the summer as there is so much to do.

We all need some early news of the departure of a contracted player - whether sold or paid off.

Positive activity will help to get the fans on side.

We need to get our scouting going again and go unearth some gems from clubs like Le Harve (appreciate they won't all turn out to be Mahrez).  Appreciate easier said then done

Rudkin, if the rumours are true and you do read this forum, PSV are selling this guy, he's big, young and scores goals.

Though Caranza and Ruud might put us off strikers from the Dutch league!
