Edingleyfox Posted 2 August Posted 2 August Clearly still need a striker and not just an unproven last minute loan with no senior goals in the EFL as happened more than once last year. But the Ben Nelson injury might mean thinking twice about letting all the experienced defenders go to raise funds.
AKCJ Posted 2 August Posted 2 August (edited) We need a senior striker. 27/28 or ears old who can play 50 games if needed. Doesn't have to be someone who will be first choice if we go up. Just someone for now who can put the ball in the net. Edited 2 August by AKCJ

That is the entirety of our TV money this season. Shouldn't be giving anyone a £25k a week contract in the state we are in. Especially someone who scored 2 goals in the championship last season. Yap true, he's probably not gonna leave this season, he's not getting that money anywhere else, smashed plenty of goals at Blackburn though.
Silebyfox_89 Posted 2 August Posted 2 August We should be signing players aged 22-26 hungry to improve on a reasonable wage. weve got the youth players and a few experienced pros. Top will have to dip his hand in and spend a little soon. 1
boosmanana Posted 2 August Posted 2 August Think we're going to need at least 1 Centre Back, potentially more depending on outgoings. Done a bit of digging and analysis of stats, video footage etc and came up with these 2. Both would hopefully be attainable for £1.5m or under and presumably wouldn't command huge wages either. Julius Berthel Askou - Hakon Volden - 1
LCFCCKEANO Posted 2 August Posted 2 August If we take Bristric as gospel, for me, I would like another out and out 9, ideally someone who is a certainty for 10/15 goals if Bristric is a flop, and then one more winger, then just replace exits, I think if we get the deal over the line we are arguably in the best position in a window that we have been in in a long long time 1
Popular Post Lambert09 Posted 3 August Popular Post Posted 3 August Wow, no wonder they turned down the 750k. This guys is going to go far. He’ll easily step up the divisions 7
coolhandfox Posted 3 August Posted 3 August Shopping list is still pretty long, could get longer depending on departures 2 x CF, dropping to 1 if Bristrić signs. 2 x CB as at least 2 of Soutter, Faes, Okoli and Nelson will leave. 1 x RW as we only have Alves and his unlikely to pay 51 games including cups. 1 x LW if Mavididi leave which I suspect will happen late in the window. 1 x CM if one of Skipp or Hamza leaves. We need to sort of what happen with Opoku and TWB as they seem ear marked for leaving on a prem. Suspect we see one of the GK leave. If we get in strikers and RWer, we need loans for Evans, Hutchinson, Carr. Busy time for JM
Sankey93 Posted 3 August Posted 3 August I find it very surprising that Ballard and cleary haven’t yet moved!

Evans possibly too if he doesn't go out on loan. Coulibaly also was tested as a winger at the weekend with the split squads.

So with Cullen, BCDR, Alves, Chaplin and Watson you have 5 players covering 3 positions if Mavididi leave. We need 6 minimum.

You could always include Page and Braybrooke who played further forward last year from the bench. Not everyone is going to be a 30+ game starter.

Ideally we need two players for each position, Braybrooke, Page, Hamza and Skipp are going to share the CM, DCM roles in the current formation. 2

The way the club is cutting the playing budget down, there may have to be flexibility in that. 2 for each is ideal, but we have just named 10 players for 5 positions. Braybrooke, Page, Hamza, Skipp, Cullen, BCDR, Alves, Chaplin, Watson and Mavididi. Unless they are going to sell one of two of those I don't see much movement.

Riley Carr as well offers pace and direct running similar to Watson, and has looked promising in pre season. Unless he goes out on loan. 1

I'd like to have someone else more developed for him to challenge instead.

You are probably right, especially considering I think it only a 7 man bench in L1. Edited 3 August by coolhandfox
