Presumably the delay is him meeting/speaking with the owner. Everything is signed off by him and needs his rubber stamp to finalise. Hopefully there's not much polo on this week.

Absolutely shocking that they've taken over 3 weeks to decide on Gary Rowett. I don't think he's a bad manager at this level, but if the egos in this squad didn't respect Cooper, RvN and Marti, I just don't see them respecting someone who is very much a journeyman Championship manager.

Is this definitely happening? Am I right in saying that all we've had is a Percy-bomb to say that we're in advanced talks. 

 

Knowing how slow things move here I would assume we'll still be waiting for Aiyawatt to get off his pony.

IF Rowett takes/gets the job I think there are three options: -

 

1. The performance improves and we stay up - he keeps the job into next season.

2. The performance improves, but we still get relegated - he keeps the job next season as we won't be able to get anyone better and he has experience in League 1.

3. The performance continues to be sh*t and we get relegated - he gets the sack 3 weeks into pre-season and we spend the rest of it trying to get Dyche or Thomas Franck to take the job.

I’m not overly excited by Gary Rowett but will 100% back him. I can see why he wants it, its a free swing and if he could turn it round somewhat, not only would it look very good on him, it would also put in a position where he is in charge of the biggest club in the division. (this year anyway) 

 

it’s until the end of the year so it seems the first time ever where the club have actually thought ahead. It looks like if he keeps us up he will get it extended, what does success look like?
 

If you can get these players playing, surely they are far better than relegation rivals?  would you be happy to extend  if he keeps us up and we limp over the line, or does he have to do more than that.
 

Personally I would like to see a team that is thriving not just surviving, maybe I’m asking for too much?
