I don’t think any of the managers since Rodgers have really been helped when it comes to bringing in their own back room staff so I can’t imagine Rowett with a 6 month contract will get many in either…  Which for me is part of the problem!

we need a host of new staff members who are all onside with the manager’s philosophies pushing his ideas and not allowing standards to drop… bringing in 1 or 2 we’ll just see this bunch of rodents continue to do what they’ve done for years and down tools before running to Top

Enzo did, as did cooper. Ruud didn’t at 1st.

Ha yes! I meant it in terms of FoxesTalk time!  He doesn't deserve a Rowett Out thread an hour before his first match kicks off based on his first team selection.

The truth is, he is going to struggle for proper training time with the fixture congestion coming up.  I hope he makes perfect decisions from minute one, but the reality is, he may need to see things with his own eyes before learning the detail of the squad.  That might take 2 or 3 games at least (I hope I'm wrong).

I don’t think anything will change in all honesty, the team’s in its arse. Half of it is leaving for free with no incentives and the others have massive contexts with no incentives. It’s pretty much identical to when we went down under Smith.

It will make no difference in my opinion.

I’ll be honest, I confused the job rowett did at Birmingham with John Eustace lol

After reading this I googled it and I did too. I still think it's a good appointment but this has ruined some of my excitement.

Do you really think Rudders can negotiate more than one contract at a time.

Will be just Rowett, made to work with Saddler and King

He'd get signed off on the sick with stress for a few weeks and we'd have to wait until he comes back to finish the negotiations.

Yet Smith still managed to significantly improve our form and kept us in contention to survive until the last day. Had Smith come in a few games earlier, he'd have very likely have kept us up. If Rowett starts before Saturday, he'll have 14 games—six more than Smith did.

Feels like they really did as much as they could to convince Enzo that everything was fine. Signings despite knowing about the PSR issues etc. Then when he was firmly in the door they thought they could lie to him like they did Cooper and Ruud.

This is going to be another 90 minutes of negative, clueless football by the same negative, clueless players under Andy Cifuentes on Saturday isn't it...

Even if he's appointed today, it leaves no chance of getting his changes in for Saturday.

Another 3 points dropped from the clubs incompetence.

Thats an insult to King, he is nowhere near as bad as the Spanishman. The Spanishman had a full coaching team with him, Calm or whatever he was called. It would take months to get this lot fit after the frauds involvement.

Rowett is at Seagrave and expected to take training. Callum Davidson is with him.

I'd have Davidson at left back over Luke Thomas tbf

Sometimes it's important to separate sentiment.

I don't like being too critical of King, but he literally might as well have said to Marti on his way out "fancy leaving your notebook mate" Literally nothing has changed, evidenced by the results.

I mean, it's hardly insanity, but the point remains the same;

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

You've got Luke Thomas and Ricardo who make mistakes week in week out yet persistently start - Guess what, they continue to start, they continue to make mistakes and they continue to cost us points.

You've got Mavididi & Fatawu who have been completely sussed out. How about change things around? Swap sides? cut in less, adapt tactics to make them more unpredictable and to surprise the opposition? Nah, lets just keep things the same, we'll leave Monga and the new lad we've signed on loan on the bench - After all, Fatawu is capable of the odd cracking consolation goal.

How about up top? Tell you what, Daka's just scored for the fist time in 9 years, he might have some confidence, he certainly looks like he's playing with a bit of confidence. Nah, fvck that, lets bring Ayew in to slow down the play and destroy any momentum.

Come on, if it wasn't Andy King, who ever is running this circus would be getting absolute dogs abuse. Granted, its unfair on him the appointment, but he's still earning decent coin, he's still got all his coaching badges etc - I still expect to see some kind of positive change.

Lets make sure the ink is dry on the contracts before he gets a chance to see the squad up close in person!

Rowetts backroom team could be interesting as well, as they are also previously linked to Leicester.

Mark Sale (Assistant Head Coach): A key lieutenant who followed Rowett to Burton, Birmingham, Derby, Stoke, Millwall, and Oxford.

Joe Carnall (Head of Tactical

Insights/Analysis):Worked with Rowett for over eight years, handling performance and tactical analysis.

Dave Carolan (Head of Performance/Physical Performance): Long-term fitness specialist who joined Rowett at Derby, Stoke, and Birmingham.

Oxford United Football Club +3

Previous Key Staff (Stoke/Derby/Birmingham):

Kevin Summerfield: Assistant manager (Birmingham).

Rory Delap: First-team coach (Stoke).

Kevin Phillips: First-team coach (Stoke).

Callum Davidson: First-team coach (Stoke).

Kevin Poole: Goalkeeper coach (Burton,

Birmingham, Derby).

Paul Robinson: Technical coach (Birmingham).

That is decent backroom team, lots of leicester connections their. Be interesting to see if Kingy stays on or will he move on.

I do think some small things have changed, we pressed a lot more, especially the first half against Southampton, we have also been more direct. A complete change is not something he can implement in a few weeks, he has said several times he's not ready and doesn't want it, he should have had 1 game max. Its on the club. He will one day be a much better coach than that Cifuentes will ever be, hes a spanish PE teacher at best.

I think king will go to the role he came for, the transition between academy and 1st team.

And would they all want to sign up for an interim gig—especially if some of them are currently employed on long-term contracts elsewhere?
