Indeed. This will be tested however, if his 1st starting eleven have Thomas at the back and Ayew up front.

And herin lies out problem.

He will have to play one of those players at least that we have all grown to hate. The list:

Okoli

Ayew

Daka

Thomas

Viktor

Riccy (i hate old Riccy, not the bloke)

Wink

Aluko cant play both sides, Riccy cant play every game, one of Daka or Ayew will have to play and both cant play 90 mins each game. Either one of Luke or Victor has to play. And i am sure Winks will feature at some point.

I think we have to accept this sadly.

How has this taken 3.5 weeks to put him in post? Sacked in the autumn by Oxford so available… why the wait?

Because we clearly tried to get at least one other candidate and it didnt work our.

We dont know what choice he was, but it definitely wasn't first.

Seems likely that a) they were really hoping King would be able to tide us over until the end of the season, b) have spent the last few weeks getting knocked back by people higher up the shortlist, or c) both

Let’s not kid ourselves, a load of money came in on the markets for Rowett within 24hours. Was talked about on here. Wasn’t like they didn’t know about him. They’ve clearly fvcked around with other candidates for a few weeks and have come back to Rowett.

Good luck to the bloke, I’ve always found him likeable. But this is another mark on Rudkins record.

Scenes if he starts Jordan Ayew as our lone striker on Saturday.

He has previous for signing/picking veteran midfielders and strikers.

Took 3 weeks to offer him the job, and given him just a 4 month deal. Not exactly a vote of confidence.

I get the impression Top still thinks we are a big draw for Managers. Almost as delusional as him thinking we will return to the Premier League anytime soon.

Hopefully Rowett keeps us up, but Top and Rudkin deserve another relegation with the farcical way they run this club.

We forward plan large contracts for under performers all the time. We are the kings of it!

Yeah it classic confirmation bias; Top / Rudkin will have convinced themselves this is a points deduction / threat of relegation issue, rather than failure of leadership.  Watch Garty get us out of the shit and be replaced with a disaster in the summer who makes stupid signings, rinse and repeat.

And as per usual people say player X shouldn't play but they never say who should play instead

Great escape 2.0 incomming.  Good luck Mr Rowett.   Lets gets behind him and the Team now and stop all the bickering.

They were clearly hoping that King would work out considering the backing he had from fans when appointed and the fact that it would have saved them money. Obviously that didn't work out (not all King's fault considering the bozo red cards). Maybe Rowett was considered as soon as King was appointed but they just wanted to see how it would go with King. When the fans lost faith in King they scrambled for Rowett.

I actually like Rowett. There have been times in the recent past when he's been linked with us and I wouldn't have been disappointed if we hired him.

I don't understand people suddenly thinking we don't have talent. We can beat anybody in this league, talent level is not the issue. It's application of that talent and hopefully Rowett will be able to activate that.

So he should, he gets 4 goals per year more than daka,

Daka fans will whinge, yeh but daka runs about a  bit more , I ask what's more important goals or   poncing about?

Oh yeah, Ayew’s massive 3 goals from open play in 1,985 minutes played this season to Daka’s 2 in 1,039. Both have 3 assists.

Take out the couple of penalties and Daka’s return (whilst crap) is still quite significantly better based on playing time than Ayew’s.

Ayew also hinders the team. Put it this way, Daka can often be anonymous and like playing without a striker but Ayew is like the opposition having an extra player is the best way I can put it lol

And before you have a hissy fit, I am not ‘Daka fan’ or ‘whinging’. Just presenting facts. I agree goals are important, as is keeping them out the other end. Both of these are likely increased if we play how Rowett will want, more pressing, winning the ball further up the pitch and getting forward quickly. For his many many faults, we stand a better chance with Daka in the team.

And then we look forward to seeing the back of both of them in the summer!

I think 90% of the Leicester fan base would choose Daka over Ayew.

It’s a failing of the club to find an alternative that is frustrating.

However we haven’t exactly played to Dakas strengths either. He isn’t a Vardy that will generate you chances on his own.

Why we’ve persisted with Ayew is beyond me.

Rowett will have fun pulling all of this together though in the next few days.

My main worry is the fact the Rowett, from what I have read, rely heavily on being defensively solid and then being very clinical in chances we create. This goes against every single narrative of Leicester in the last 2 years and the same players are still here. You can only work with what you have. I will back him, but between me and foxtalk, we are down.

I’d argue we are clinical with the chances we create to be fair. Take the Southampton game last week, we scored 3 from 3 shots on target. Same story in other games. Our chance creation has been poor but we seem to have scored quite a few considering. Defensive solididy definitely. Thats what I’m looking to see if he can improve.

I agree. Most fans can see he is the least worst option. In times he has had a run in the side, it has often resulted in better performances from those around compared to Ayew as well.

An alternative is key and they both need to go when their contracts end. No idea what pond we’ll be fishing in but there have been some good strikers in L1 who won’t be coming up like Ballard at Leyton Orient and Tolaj at Plymouth. Thats assuming we aren’t going to cast our recruiting net wider!

Rowett’s way of playing might bring more out in Daka by playing to his strengths anyway.
