There's a wider point i've wanted to raise here for a while.

We've now had Ruud, Marti and Rowett who arguably had very encouraging first games/first few games.

We got battered by West Ham, but there was a new style of play used by Ruud and it got us quick goals which meant we were comfortable before they started to have chances. That was never to be seen again, the quick releases to Vardy vanished and the box midfield was gone.

We pressed Fiorentina to death under Marti. Never to be seen again.

We started Monga and had Mukasa looking like a wonderkid in a 4-4-1-1 against Stoke and Boro and played direct, quick attacking football..... pretty much never to be seen again.

It all just fades back into bland, plodding 4-2-3-1. With predictable line ups.

I know we joke about managers being told what to do, but genuinely what the **** is happening after a managers first game or two with us?

Yeah like someone needs the balls to say **** off John what’s not to like about not winning football matches!

I would point out that we were at least two weeks fitter than fiorentjna (who had a v poor season)

Fair, but I think a pressing system is evident even against much fitter sides. You're still going to see a team try and engage even if they get played through. Just saw us stand off for the entirety of the rest of his time here lol

12th after 30 odd games. You make your own luck.
Rowett had the same player in the same season at his disposal and got nothing out of him, not even normal goals let alone wonder goals.

Rowett's had players missing pens, one on ones and missing the target from 3-4 yards. Marti had Fatawu banging in goals from 30-60 yards.

Can't say I agree that's a case of making your own luck lol

Results have been very disappointing, but I think if people weren't so unbelievably depressed and downbeat about the club, they'd probably look at it more pragmatically and accept that Rowett has been very unlucky not to pick up considerably more points than we have. I suppose it's the way it goes when you walk into a club that's on a massive downward trend and comfortably the best player then goes on to miss 75% of the games and the 2nd best player forgets how to shoot.

Why does he “forget how to shoot” ?

its something he can’t stop doing leading up to the new appointment?

It’s not all down to misfortune and bad luck, a managers job is more than just choose the team and tactics.
You could argue the “downturn in form” on all the new managers that come and done well.

Sheffield United

Norwich

Southampton

West Brom

Blackburn

Isn’t part of the managers remit to install belief to the players as well?
Look at Mukasa came in boiling hot then looked like shit.

Why is Fatawu scoring 4 is 7 before his arrival in which 5 games were defeats. Could it be because the emphasis shifted away from attacking and focused on defensive duties?

Lucky old Marti, fluked his way to 40 goals in 29 matches about the 7th highest overall in the division when sacked.

Meanwhile Mr unfortunate has come in and managed 13 goals in 13 games including games against teams at the bottom which everyone labeled as the easiest run in.

Coincidentally it is nearly exactly the same amount of goals per game his team at Oxford averaged over 23 games.

Meanwhile they are pumping the bottom team by four whilst we could only equalise late on.

Basically said he wants it post match

He’ll know what needs to be done and who needs to go. We’re in a difficult position in terms who will want it, and at some point we are going to have to back someone for a reasonable period of time…

The fact that he has picked both Winks and Mavs for pretty much all his games, even today, tells me he hasn't got a clue. He can get in the bin with the rest of them.

Openly stated that the club culture needs to change.

Completely obvious but good to hear.

Now off you pop, Gary. Thanks for nothing.

Rather give someone like Fuchs ago we need to bring that culture back to the club it worked with Enzo and hopefully top would trust him enough to let him manage.

Rowett shouldn’t even be in contention

would also get rid of Winks as well

The underlying stats and performances were far better than what we had under Marti, but he got more luck than Rowett.

But any sympathy I had for him went in how we managed the team after the international break. He continued to prioritise technical players like Winks and didn't change the tactics. Some of the selections just didn't make sense., and not going with two forwards when goal scoring was our issue was a massive mistake.
