Skipp i think will stay based his wages, the only way i can him leaving is if hes loaned out with leicester paying some of wages still.

Wouldn't surprise me if Burnley look into that if Scott Parker remains there.

He’s got another year left hasn’t he? Cant see anyone paying a fee for him and nobody will be stupid enough to take on his wages.

He will leave on loan to a championship club at least, and we couldn’t keep him because of his wages.

Signed for free though so we could let him go on a free as no amortisation.

You look through that squad and it's actually going to be a massive job for whoever has to fix it. What a complete mess.

We're going to end up renewing Ayew. I'm convinced of it.

Just have to come to some agreement with him regarding a years worth of money. Turned down a new deal with Fulham, someone said he got a wage rise coming here, how generous we are with contracts he’s probably on about £50k a week

Yeah maybe. Was just making the point there’s one less consideration given we don’t need to cover amortisation.

Just seen Luke Thomas has still got another 3 years left on his contract lollollol

What a club we are

We are regressing to Luke Thomas’s level, just not quite sure how low it is

I don't think we'll be able to afford to.  Next season will see loan signings from Wrexham, Millwall and Blackburn to keep us up.in League 1.

Yes, we really do have a chance to go down again, Administration is a huge possibility, so that's a points deduction and maybe Seagrave will be one of those landmarks people visit in a couple of years that is all over grown and abandoned.

I could see the first team squad next season looking like this if we go down, with next to no investment for incoming players.

GKs - Stolarkzyk, Vieietes and Bausor

DFs - Nelson, Souttar, Vestergaard, Thomas, Alunko, Coulibally, Gray, Amartey, Ali

MFs - Skipp, Choudhury, Page, Golding, Thomas, Braybrooke, Alves, Cartwright, Joseph, Motsi

FWs - Evans, Mavididi, Reid, Hutchinson

Out - Begovik, Faes, Ricardo, Okoli, Lascelles, James, Winks, Aribo, Mukasa, Ramsey, Fatawu, Daka, Ayew, Richards, Marçal, Monga, El Khannous,  Wilson-Brown, Popov, Opuku

The El Khannous, Monga and Fatawu sales and everything we cut off that wage bill with the likes of Winks, Daka, Ayew and Ricardo going sees us having more free cash.

Okoli and Kristiansen will be farmed out on loan.

I’m just not convinced we invest and we will try and rely on the players we have to get us back out of this.

If nothing else, the sales of those players covers Seagrave for a few more years.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we drop again next season.

*Waits for the "too good to go down' brigade to chime in

Do you mean Championship to League 1 or League 1 to League 2? Won't be long until we're playing Harborough Town.

I think he means league 1 to league 2 which, if we're in administration without a squad, is very likely.

We joke, however our nett spend to improve this situation has been horrendous in comparison to our peers since Covid.

25/26 - We have made £50.3m

24/25 - We spent £38.2m

23/24 - We made £51.2m

22/23 - We made £28.3m

21/22 - We spent £55.5m

20/21 - We spent £4.92m

Meaning out nett spend since the season after COVID in reality has been the club has made £31.2m in transfer fees! Thats covering wages and running of the club in reality.

The danger is we are quickly running out of assets to actually sell. Sure we’ll sell Fatawu, El Khannous and maybe Monga this summer, which will

generate another £50m but I don’t expect us to re-invest, even with an even significantly reduced wage bill. They believe that Seagrave can build a profitable, sustainable football model to see us successful in my opinion.

We make the odd marquee signing but that just isn’t how football works at the top level.

If anything, by overpaying on wages and not selling assets and let them leave on a free has crippled us.

If you compare our nett spend to the current 20 premier league teams, we are miles behind in terms of actually re-investment.

Manchester United : -£681m

Arsenal FC : -£668m

Chelsea FC : -£642m

Tottenham Hotspur : -£579m

Newcastle United : -£428m

Liverpool FC : -£424m

Manchester City : -£399m

Nottingham Forest : -£330m

West Ham United : -£320m

Crystal Palace : -£203m

Fulham FC : -£144m

Sunderland AFC : -£141m

AFC Bournemouth : -£131m

Burnley FC : -£107m

Brentford FC : -£103m

Aston Villa : -£95m

Leeds United : -£75m

Everton FC : -£12m

Brighton & Hove Albion : +£0.5m

Wolverhampton Wanderers : +£28m

—————————

Leicester City : +£31.2m

In fact the only two clubs with a better nett spend than us currently in the Championship in the past 5 years are Blackburn (notoriously run well by the Venky Chicken folk) and Watford (A non basket case of a club).

We sit 3rd bottom of nett spend for teams who have competed in the Championship! Let that sink in.

No coincidence that Wolves are bottom of the Premier League now?

Whatever has gone on at Tottenham makes King Power look efficient currently.

Under this ownership and strategy we won’t compete at that top table realistically. If anything the Premier League (once in a millennium) win could have made things worse by assuming that you can build and sustain things on the cheap.

The Premier League is a billionaires playground and you need to burn money to stay in it.

This is the bit everyone misses in reality, as our previous success can paint a great picture. We are like building a palace on top of sand. It’s all going to collapse at some point.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been spoken about more in reality and picked up by the various podcast that cover our club.

Even if we survive the drop, we aren’t going anywhere until this strategy changes.

And I get we’ve made some some decent sales in that time, with the likes of Maddison, Barnes, KDH, Fofana and Chilwell.

That well has dried up now.

Reality is Monga can leave in the cheap, he’s the feel in the crown. I’m not convinced that the rest of the current crop of youth players are any better or worse than your run of the mill youth product that is being churned out by every Premier League club.

The players we sold, were all established, Premier League players that could command a good transfer fee.

We’d be lucky to make £80m for all of our current squad combined, which is the reported fee that we got for Fofana alone.
