If we did get relegated, who would still be here next season?

If the worse were to happen and we went down from League 1. which of current crop of players would still be here?

 

tldr: i'd guess only BDCR, Souttar, Hamza, Vestergaard, Page (maybe), Begovic, Thomas, Aluko & some returning loans would still be here

 

Jakub Stolarczyk - Someone in the champ would pick him up for peanuts
Ben Nelson - last year of his contract, would likely go top end champ or bottom prem as potential.
Caleb Okoli - loaned back to italy
Jordan James (on loan from Rennes) - bye bye JJ
Abdul Fatawu - 100% sold
Harry Winks - Free
Jordan Ayew - Free (thank god)
Stephy Mavididi - would be sold but haven't got a clue where
Dujuan Richards (on loan from Chelsea) - loan expiring
Fran Vieites - is this guy even real?
Bobby De Cordova-Reid - Can imagine he'd stay
Harry Souttar - nobody would take him due to injuries, so he'd be here
Victor Kristiansen - would be loaned out to someone
Hamza Choudhury - staying as nobody is paying the wages
Joe Aribo (on loan from Southampton) - sent back
Patson Daka - Free
Ricardo Pereira (captain) - Free
Oliver Skipp - a champ team would come in for him i'd imagine
Jannik Vestergaard - would stay to see out the final year of his contract
Jamaal Lascelles - we couldn't afford the wages
Louis Page - He'd stay i reckon
Wanya Marçal - staying
Jeremy Monga - sold
Divine Mukasa (on loan from Manchester City) - loan expiring
Aaron Ramsey (on loan from Burnley) - loan expiring
Asmir Begović - i'd imagine would stay & become a coach
Luke Thomas - in the words of Leo Dicaprio - "I aint ****in leavin"
Michael Golding - stay
Silko Thomas - stay
Olabade Aluko - stay

 

would also have Evans, Braybrooke and Alves to come back into the squad.

A few would be picked up in the £2m - £4m bracket like Faes and Okoli.

 

 

We're going to have to sign about 12  players with f uck all money to do it with

Aribo won’t go back to Saints as his contract ends at the end of the season. He’ll end up at QPR or somewhere like that.
 

Very unlikely a Championship club will pay Skipp £50k a week so we’ll be stuck with him alongside Hamza, BDCR and Luke Thomas. 
 

I’m assuming Verstergaard has had his hernia op during the season because he’s got his eyes on a move in the summer so maybe he’ll be gone. 
 

Marcal’s contract is running down. Not sure there’s much interest in renewing it from either party tbh.

Golding I am convinced was a player that had to be signed from Chelsea in order for them to pay the £30 m that was recorded when KDH was sold to them. 

 

What is interesting is that if you add the fee that was paid for Golding ( £5 m ) to the £25 m that Chelsea got for KDH when they sold him to Everton spookily that comes to the £30 million they paid for KDH in the first place.!

Far too many players who shouldn't be - because it will be the same people in place as usual, who are hopeless at moving players on.

 

Thomas and Choudhury will still be starting games for us.
