We’re still going down. Probably by a very small margin and blame will be at the door of the owner as to why he can’t organise the hiring of Rowett quicker than three weeks. It’s exactly the same as the 22/23 season.

Mind you I’d keep Rowett regardless of what happens.

He might not want the job if we got relegated. Most likely get another Championship club offer.

Yeah, not so sure it was a 'great' point against what was a very poor Middlesbrough performance however its a step in the right direction.

It won't the dropping of 2 points against these that we will reflect on if we go down, it will be all the points dropped to the dross of the league.

Any other time I would say its a good point, but we need to be getting more than a point from games now. If West Brom have a turn of form, its good night.

I think the fact we didn’t totally fold after half time is the encouraging thing.

Have to beat Norwich though

I think the fact we didn't fold in the first 15 when they were going at us hard was impressive. Under Marti or King I'm fairly confident we're 2 or 3-0 down after 30 mins.

Some of the teams above us play each other over the course of them games so even if all 6 of them win every game between now and then, us winning our games would take us out the bottom three.

It's absolutely in our own hands, as Clapham Fox suggested.

Can see the improvements all over well apart from Daka in front of goal

players running around like they actually care ( looking for new contracts ) hopefully

still a mistake in the back 4 but positives

shows the incompetence of rudkin top and the gang in failing to do nothing for 3 weeks

One thing that is pretty massive is that I thought our performance levels were roughly equal in each half. It was only really the defensive brainfart for the goal and them starting the second half semi-brightly that I could point to as examples of our levels dropping. By the 55 minute mark it was pretty even, and we rode the storm reasonably well when Boro applied pressure.

Was it the best we've played in terms of actual passages of play and output? Nowhere near. But as a 90-minute performance gauging consistent levels of effort and matching the opponent, it was the best for me. Better than Derby away, which I held as the benchmark so far this season - and that was a 60-minute performance followed by trying our best to gift them a route back into it.

Totally agree , and think the comparative nature of both halves is definitely worth calling out, as its such an obvious improvement. In such a short space of time it is really quite impressive considering how long we have been operating at such a low intensity.

Can't complain about that performance against a team who will be promoted via automatics or play-offs! Very happy chappy this morning. Now come on Sheff Utd!!!

Do you think so?, they always look ordinary when I've watched them, Ipswich still could catch them.

I think they are better than Coventry! and it's between those 2 and Ipswich! and i really hope Coventry fall into the play-offs!

Play like that for the rest of the season and we stay up.

If ... a big if ... we can stop the unforced unnecessary errors ... if we don't we are only digging our own grave .... so a message to the defence.... if in doubt.... put it out ... the ball that is in case you were wondering Caleb

I know it's still early days, but I'm really starting to believe in the Gary Rowett show, he's come in and is having the immediate affect on the team and the supporter's. I'm not now going to the demonstration on Saturday as I feel things are starting to change on the pitch, and I'm "Hoping" this has been the wake up call, and Top and crew will finally make the "Meaningful" changes that are required elsewhere. Reignite the FOXES NEVER QUIT motto please.

End of Marti and Kingy's tenure, we were horrific. Losing to Charlton/Oxford, throwing away a 3-0 lead to lose at home, it was a horrible period.

In Gary's two games, we've been more solid as a unit, more energy, more creative and getting more bodies in the box, over 3x 45 min periods. To say that this isn't a decent point, away at Automatic Promotion chasing team is laughable. Yes Okoli made mistakes, yes there were moments thats the wrong attacking decision was made, but we 100% would have lost both the last two games under Marti.

Gary has to start somewhere, he's got us 2 decent away points, that on another day where Gary had more time, could have potentially of come away with 6 points.

Relegation is obviously a real threat, but there is signs of life that he's getting out the squad at the minute, which i hope will continue until we are fully safe.

JJ to come back into the fold, and continue doing what we're doing, we should hopefully have a positive end to the season.

It really, really isn't. Whether we stay up this season is entirely within our own hands—it is not dependent on what West Brom do. We're one point behind them with a much better squad. Before kick off last night we had 13 games left and last night's game was easily the most difficult of them all on paper—yet we gained a comfortable point and it could have been more. Where we are at the end of the season will depend on what we do over the remaining 12 games, not on one difficult away trip against a team with one of the best home records in the division. We will get more points than West Brom over the rest of the season and will finish above them. We'll also very likely finish above a couple of other teams currently above us.

Yep agree with this, and a point away at Boro with a weakened side is a decent point. Once Rowett has James back and fatawu fully fit then we should see even more improvement. We just can't afford anymore injuries. If we were to lose anymore defenders we'd be fcked

What annoys me is seeing certain halves like Derby and Coventry and we aren't just good but we have way too much for any team at this level.

To know it's the basics like effort that haven't been there are what makes this the most unlikeable team in my lifetime.

We are however easily one of the worst without the ball and I think the next ten games will prove whether that was down to coaching or they're just ****ing shit.

I think it is down to coaching Marti was clearly a complete and utter buffoon, just so far off on any of the basics obsessed with passing it out. Complete amateur clown.

We were all told his “football is grim” but can’t say I have any complaints so far, I’ve actually felt moments of excitement seeing us go forwards,Seeing us counter, seeing us actually move at speed lol

I was expecting 5 at the back and bypassing the midfield with long balls into space the way everyone was going on.

It’s much more interesting than the possession shite we’ve been through.

Lets be honest though, moving on from the Grim football we have been playing, it wasn't going to be hard to improve us.

But yes it is much better. And I hope it continues.
