If we had Rowett in after the Sheffield Utd embarrassment or QPR away I truly believe we wouldn’t even be thinking about relegation.

Yes, we've waited too long getting him in.

They proved me wrong. At half-time I said 3 or 4-1.

As others have said Skipp and Winks excellent. Definitely more fight from everyone.

Okoli and Thomas on the ball scare me to death, so we need to replace them when we can.

Was a bit worried in what I saw from Aribo in that brief spell. He was on for tracking back, and didn't.

All in all though, happy with that.

2 points dropped.

Boro were dog shit. Opportunity for a statement win and we blew it.

This was very much my feeling after Stoke but can't agree tonight. I'm so loathed to use this sentence with the history of it but I think if we play like that we'll be OK.

OK, now the dust has settled - Skipp, Winks and Mukasa can all take a bow, they were all excellent. Our first choice midfield trio for the rest of the season.

And, dare I say... good game from Luke Thomas? :nigel:

The effort levels are so, so much higher - but the sour note was seeing Ayew come on and do what we all know he does, which is the square sum of feck-all.

Headache when JJ returns

Shout out to Luke Thomas who was outstanding tonight. He's right be singled out for criticism this season, but he thoroughly deserves some praise for that performance this evening.

I would agree. I still want him to bulk up thpugh because I think if he was a little stronger he would be a much better player. Loving his effort and aggression tonight, a great game.

You'd have to take a point away at a promotion contender considering the season we've had. Annoying because they were poor but until we cut out our stupid individual errors, we cant progress. I dont think we are down and out just yet.

He’s got to start, but in all seriousness, where does JJ get in here?

I repeat, he’s got to start

The only player you can drop is Winks. Which is a shame now he's decided he's bothered.

Skipp is the only midfielder who will read the game defensively. He makes blocks and covers defenders when they're out of position. Obviously we can't drop Mukasa.

In the 8 role. Musaka the 10. or vise versa.

Better. Well organised and look willing to actually work hard for each other. Rowett appears to have instilled some fight that was sorely lacking. Hopefully has let rip with some home truths too.

Mukasa faded but looked excellent again - he's definitely a piece we've been missing in linking play in the final third. Skipp and Winks especially were great - if we can get that version of Harry Winks until the end of the season (and he doesn't sulk off again) we'll be in a much better place and can hopefully part ways on semi-decent terms.

Feeling ever so slightly more confident. But we have to beat Norwich.

Norwich, Portsmouth, and Blackburn all lost. Which is a Bonus.

Norwich have got Sheff Weds tomorrow.

I think Mukasa could play down the middle but you don't want to take his strengths away. I can see him playing from the left.

Don't necessarily needs Winks and Skipp for every game so James will play alongside Winks.

I think he’ll play as a 10 and either Mukasa plays as a false 9 instead or Daka or on the left instead of Mav.

And how about a clean sheet for a change. It's been 28 games now... Or 31 games where we have conceded a goal or more (out of 34). Horrendous stat.

Everyone is aware,, you don't have to mention it every single post!!!!

Honestly could not watch the game tonight in case I gave them bad luck. Swiched on with 8 mins to go and all I heard was the Boro commentator say "Jorden Ayew is doing everything at walking pace" Had to switch off again as nerves couldnt take it.🤣

Hopefully you've not counted Thomas for tonight?

In terms of his crap performances over the season... ?
