It was a mess before....but somehow they have managed to make it worse! We were doing shit without all these other people and wages to help us!

This might just be hopium but going to put it out there that Chief Football Officer sounds like a bullshit job - in terms of plain English why would that rank above a Sporting Director?

I've said many times that the Rudkin issue could be sorted by giving him a bullshit job that can be framed as a promotion but takes him out of the technical areas and away from decision making. He can still mince about in his tracksuit and hang around on matchdays but has less scope for doing damage. This at least does sound a bit like that - 'long-term sporting alignment' and 'high-performance environment' are both phrases of meaningless waffle but sound important.

Wouldn't be the first time somebody has been kicked upstairs to keep them away from the real workplace

The scariest part of this is this remark:

"Leading our Senior Leadership Team, Kevin and Jon bring more than 45 years of combined organisational knowledge to their roles and a deep understanding of the Club’s culture and traditions."

So, during the biggest downturn in affairs on and off the field in the clubs history. The men in charge of the purse strings and the football team are being promoted. This is now beyond parody. I am absolutely dumbstruck by this approach!

Culture. What a word. Anyone with even the smallest percentage of any of their basic senses can see the culture is rotten throughout. This is yet more evidence of more back slapping and being blind to the truth. I think this is the death knell of this great football club.

Today should be seen as the beginning of the end. We are sleepwalking to oblivion and if we don't get these sycophantic charlatans out of this football club we will fall out of existence.

On a less serious but nonetheless important note, the commerical director whose served for a hated far-eastern owner at other clubs is yet more evidence of the insular parasitic leadership.

The technical director is taking some chance on this all working out. I cannot fathom why you would leave Man City to come here, even for a promotion.

No issues solved, no internal reflection of where did it all go wrong? Just doubling down on the broken model and effectively putting that broken model on steroids.

Madness.

It is a BS job, talk about "failing upwards".

Is there any other examples (in English football) of someone overseeing such a woeful decline at a club and somehow ending up in a stronger position?

It’s staggering

That's not the worst bit, appointing a man that was the financial controller 3 years ago as the f ucking Chief Executive when we need a complete transformation in the boardroom is a disaster. It's classic KP, internal promotions instead of recruiting somebody with a clue.

Agreed, clearly Martyn Glover is a bag of shite who needed binning as well, but hopefully McCarron will have the power to do that.

Also not sure why Monica is staying on and it makes no sense that her role remains Managing Director as she is clearly no longer that.

That cost of that leadership structure doesn't look sustainable in L1 so I presume they'll all be drawing up a list of redundant jobs from the ground upwards to help pay their salaries which I doubt will get cut if we do get relegated.

Academy coach -> Chief Football Officer

Thai customer service manager -> interim MD of an English football club

Financial controller -> CEO

A pattern of unfit and unsuitable appointments again and again. Top deserves the club to liquidate on his watch, inept little C UNT

This still blows my mind. I wouldn't expect Shepshed Dynamo to appoint someone with zero football knowledge, let alone a club who was in the PL last season and going through a turbulent time financially.

I knew Kevin Davies growing up. He lived around the corner and was mates with my younger brother. Nice kid. As he grew up in my hood and I was friends with his older brother, I wish him all the very best and feel inclined to give him a chance to show what he can do. I appreciate others may feel differently.

So not only has Rudkin been promoted, the finance director has been promoted to CEO lol Incredible.

In fairness, Rudkin has been promoted out of the way in to a cushy job for his loyalty. It's a pay rise which is disgusting but he's actually now a step removed from the day to day operations he was ****ing up.

As long as he doesn't try and micro manage Mccaron and try to dictate sporting decisions to him it should be a considerable improvement in that sense.

The two men being most responsible for our financial problems and points deduction both getting promotions is hilarious though.

These are all piddly, ancillary things. Our finances are a cataclysmically bad, massive headcount, two training grounds, losing money hand over fist and we're going to have to restructure and renegotiate almost EVERYTHING, otherwise we'll be insolvent in 12 months. Instead we've promoted one of the most culpable people to be CEO. It's like making Peter Sutcliffe Head of HR.
