People keep mentioning Hutchinson but surely Otchere is the next off the rank, looks very raw but surely worth a punt over what we have.

I’ve also been watching us since the mid 60s and don’t agree this is ‘the worst by far’. This and the Holloway team that also got relegated to League One were IMO as bad as each other.

What distinguishes this squad for me is its likability. Or the complete lack thereof. It’s by a distance the most unlikable bunch of players we’ve ever had. And I say that with neither Faes nor Soumare around.

What makes this squad even more unlikeable is the massive wage bill.

The team in 2007/2008 only cost a fraction – and at least, you could sense they were fighting against relegation. This season? Half of the squad can't be arsed.

Also, under the plethora of (caretaker) managers ending with Holloway we had the second-best defensive record in the league (only 45 goals conceded), just behind Crystal Palace.

Our current back four is shambolic, no matter what the combination.

I honestly think them deadline day signings had minimising the fan unrest in mind. They'd clearly missed out on all main targets and couldn't afford a decent striker.

Signing just about anyone is enough to keep the flask drinkers happy.

People fall for it every time as well.

Just the 7 starts out of a possible 36 so far. My prediction of 20 might've been optimistic.

My manger is a Preston fan he thinks we will win 😆 🤣 I told him it be the easiest 3 point they will get this season.

If Rowett plays the same team as Saturday (though preferably with Mukasa as the striker), we probably will win it. There are some decent odds available on a Preston win for those who are confident in that outcome.

The mind boggles. Stephy was dreadful today but BdcR? What on earth did he do to warrant you wishing him back in the team? He's a disgrace

edit;

Did you see his attempt at a routine trapping of the ball that he missed completely and went out of play?

The three times he was bundled off the ball with ease?

The time he caught the ball and gave away a free kick?

His usual little flick round the corner which just about worked and found a colleague, immediately given back to him and he panicked a d was bundled off the  ball?

Teams always target our left hand side and Mav doesn't track back enough. Thomas looks a different player when he is protected properly

I just don’t understand it……. Daka and Ayew don’t score goals…… so what difference does experience make? If he was to come in and score 5 goals between now and Blackburn he’s been a success, the bar is that low. It’s one of the reasons we’re in the shit, sometimes you need to be brave, need to be bold.

It’s clear to me we’re not staying up with Daka and Ayew playing, I mean Ayew gets boo’d onto the pitch for **** sake, neither of them will be here next season. You’re relying on something that isn’t working to suddenly yield results. Bringing an academy lad in might even improve things slightly.

Whoever stays up will be the ones who took a risk somewhere, be it a formation change, brining in an academy player…. Something…. Those who don’t change anything will get relegated, because you’re replying on blind hope things will improve when there’s scant evidence it will.

5 goals in 6 would just  meet a low bar threshold? That is Harry Kane form hahaha.

Agree with the general point though. Absolutely must try something different, we need goals!

It’s him or Ayew. Take your pick? lol

Daka, all day, every day.

Nothing to do with footballing ability and everything to do with attitude.

Not just attitude—also the fact that Daka actually plays like a striker, albeit a poor one. The Mercury published some stats on Daka vs Ayew today—apparently Daka touched the ball 22 times against Oxford vs 11 touches by Ayew touched against QPR. And six of Daka’s touches were in the opposition box vs zero for Ayew.

Like many others I’d prefer Mukasa or even Hutchinson to be tried up front over either Daka or Ayew, but if Rowett won’t do that then it has to be Daka because he at least he gets into the kind of positions you’d expect a striker to get into. Ayew is a forward in name only and seems to identify as a left back.

If its a choice of those two then Daka could miss 3 penalties in one game and I'd still pick him....at least he runs! Yeah that header he missed was abhorrent but Ayew wouldn't have been anywhere near that cross to even get a shot off! Easy choice....and that's the worry because they are both pony!

Errrrm, not at this particular moment, no.

I take it that what you are really trying to say, is that you disagree with me? If so, that's fine pal, no drama whatsoever.

I think this will be our turning point. We'll win comfortably and then go unbeaten for the rest of the season.

Go back to your own forum, bloody Preston fans on here stating the obvious
