Stage one needs to be first thing Wednesday after relegations confirmed is a list of players being released at when contracts expire, what youth players have been offered new deals and that the ‘senior pros are up for sale’.

then we need a manager in place before the end of May(preferably sooner), so they can have a month in post before pre season starts and our signings if any need to mainly be done by end of July to form a new squad. Anyone not expected to be here at en of transfer window, bin them off to a 5 a side on kids pitch’s for training on their own.

only players willing to put effort in will be in ‘first team training’.

can’t see any of the above or time scales happening though! Sad

Some clubs would see it as a good chance to reset and try and build a core of a side around young lads who aren't unlikeable and are actually trying to progress their careers, mixed with a balance of experience. No doubt though we start next season with an average age of 30

I like to read Fuchs' comments after Newport games. Very positive, seems to try and motivate the players, talks about improving specific, basic things. Touch of Ranieri about him perhaps. Think he'll do well and would like to see him here.

Some potential soon to be facts, dating back to at least 1895:

We won’t be the highest-placed LCFC for the first time since our name change in 1919, due to Lincoln City’s promotion.

We’ll be two divisions below both Coventry and Forest for the first time in our history.

Depending on promotion and relegation, we might share a division with the following teams for the first time in our history:

Bromley

Exeter

AFC Wimbledon (formed in 2002)

Salford City (entered the Football League for the first time in 2019)

Barnet

Mansfield Town

Stevenage (if not, they’ll be a division above us for the first time instead)

Wycombe Wanderers

While I know there aren’t many on here, just a thought for the “we were in League 1 once” crowd, we’ve also won the Premier League once, played in the Champions League once, and won the FA Cup once. If you’ve somehow convinced yourself this is an acceptable level for us, just realise you sound as idiotic as someone claiming it’s normal for us to win the Premier League. Over the course of our history, this is more abnormal for us than playing in Europe or winning major trophies. Just a complete and utter embarrassment.

Thanks for this mate

Bet we don't have a permanent manager in before pre season starts.

Id honestly run Forest like this if I had the chance. There's not one thing that's acceptable about this worm.

We need to go back to what made us "Plucky Leicester"

Cheap signing that noone has heard of-  the REAL problems started when we signed Frank Sinclair for a 2m record fee.

BELIEVE in our youth (and Hamza)- Heskey was GREAT for us and was sold for a MASSIVE amount.

Im actually fairly sure Dudkin was around at that time-  how can HE be so SHIT????!?????

So shxt. Constant hooping it up.

And what is the fuxking point with his long throws to give the ball away. and why always him to take throw ins to allow the opposition to set themselves up instead of a quick throw in?

He is the biggest culprit to allow opposition players time to settle down and for us giving the ball away.

When he does his long throws, does he not think to actually throw it to where we have some players. Mind you it's all a complete waste of time as Vestergard is the worst header of a ball for his size that I've ever seen.

I so hope we can find some idiot club to sign Thomas, as well as his mate Choudhury. I detest both of them & it's an indication of how poor they are that they are still with us & were unwanted by other clubs unlike KDH, Barnes & Chilwell

The depressing thing is that we’ll struggle to keep them. That’s how bad it is. I know a big club were sniffing around Page before he committed to us. Alves has been mucked around by the club - no reason he would stay if an alternative was on the table. The others might see their level higher than league 1 if a Championship team is looking to take a punt.

Realistically alves has had a ton of injury problems so unlikely teams will be eager to go for him

Winning league 1 was so nice.

We had to do it twice!!!

The social media team will be waiting for this one!!!🤣🤣

Part of the Frank Sinclair fee was for the own goal he scored against us before he signed 😉

Got mates who are Reading and Doncaster fans, so playing them is about the only thing I'm personally looking forward to.

It's going to be a brutal year, anyone expecting a Pearson type season is going to be bitterly disappointed. The prospect of being forced into playing more youth players is the only small mercy.

When do you think your passion will come back?

im so lost with it right now, i care but im still so numb to it. Im not convinced winning league 1 would be enjoyable. I just think there’s a hollow feeling set in now.

it feels like you worked really hard on football manager and won it all. But your little brother started playing tanked everything and you’re back where you started. If it was a game, you’d just turn it off and be done with it. That’s where I’m at now. I’m just not sure how those old feelings come back.  When I compare my emotions fighting to survive when we first got relegated and now it’s night and day. After losing to Sheffield Wednesday I remember feeling like the world was ending… I couldn’t comprehend us dropping and when we did it really put me into a period of mourning.  But the last 2 years I’ve just shrugged and accepted it is what it is. I’m not sure I have any f’s left to give.

I never thought I’d lose that special place for this club but I just don’t feel it anymore. It’s awful. The thing I cared about more than anything now feels like a random hobby… which it was always more than.  I even wonder if there’s anyone left who still gets the enjoyment from this anymore, we won it all, we had the best memory’s imaginable, how can we repeat what we experienced? We simply can’t. And I don’t know what it would take to bring back the hope, the blind faith and even just the misery… I don’t mind feeling disappointed. What I don’t like is the apathy… it just all feels like pointless self torture.

I’ve tried to switch off from it all this season, been to one game which is the least I’ve ever been to since I started going with my old man as a kid. Not watched us on tv and barely visited this forum to keep away from it all.

But moments like Saturday really do still make me sad despite not watching it, it’s gutting what they (Top and Rudkin) have done to us and it’s hard to see a way out of it under this ownership.

Football aside I now have friends that I’ve not seen for half a year as a consequence of not going the games anymore as we don’t live in the same city so going the football was always a way of us catching up, now most of choose to not bother wasting our money on those players who couldn’t care less.

If we do good business early this window, get a good manager in and give our youngsters the chance to break out early, and do all of this at the top end of League one and with high effort football, then I can get behind the actual team again. I need evidence that at least some of the lingering issues have been resolved by this ‘restructure’.

As for the owner/rudkin, gonna need 5+ years of the club being ran extremely well for me to even semi accept them existing within the club. Don’t see either happening.

Football wise, even if we get things like the signings right, it will be the same focus on boring over possession football. Best case scenario the football will still be a terrible watch for us

It’s such a shame because this is our chance to refresh and move on. We are being left behind in the 2010’s, even Man City themselves are moving away from that style. Tactics move in 5 year cycles and we are stuck a cycle back, will be two over the next few years I’m sure
