I think you've seen an upturn in player sales which is good to see. We seem to be getting some better deals going out.

 

But I am finding some of the praise a bit grating. This isn't a dig at McCarron but it shows how successfully they've reduced everyone's expectations. This is more bringing us in line with what most clubs are capable of. It sums up how unbelievably hopeless Rudkin was.

 

We also need incomings as well.

I think they will come, we are just working out at the minute what we have once we have flogged the deadwood and any saleable assets. Hopefully we have a few lined up, but this is LCFC and we certainly haven't operated with any strategy in this department for a long time.

And to be honest, of the incomings, I'm still not seeing much of one either. Time may prove me wrong. But until that's fixed I'm not going to be heaping praise just yet.

We're also nowhere near done clearing out the deadweight either. It's encouraging that we've shifted a couple of players that characteristically we'd wind up keeping until the end of their contracts but it definitely isn't time for fingering each other over a job well done.

 

Still got Skipp, Hamza, Mavididi, Thomas and Faes to rehome.

Thomas has something like four years left on his contract which is almost certainly at a value nobody else will match 

 

Skipp also has years left and a massive book value.

Mavididi and Faes likely, the others I don't think so. Unless some braindead DoF in the championship thinks Skipp is good value at that level,

I think we're unfortunately lumbered with Thomas and Choudhury regardless. The signs on the outgoings are better for sure but we are still less than half way through what we should do.

 

Vestergaard, Winks and Ayew all gone is at least a good starting point for the dressing room morale.

Priority is to get money in and ship the high earners out.

The signings will follow when we know what we need.

I expect at least 6 more out the door within the next week.

 

Again, can only go on what i have heard first hand, but "the new DOF and manager have done more in 3 weeks than the last 3 years of the previous incumbents".

Make of that what you will.

It won’t be Rudkin. A lot of this will be hard work with agents as much as anything else and a good percentage of that game think Rudkin is a spanner

Thomas is easier to shift as he has zero book value as an academy player so we could take a lower fee than we'd like to offset wages for the buying club

Presumably player  wages take a further cut after being relegated to league 1 and lots of the players that took us there think they are too good for that level.  It's no wonder we're finding it easier to shift them.  Jury's out.
