Any good? Is he a ball playing

He describes himself as a ball playing centre back and a leader

To be fair that's exactly what we need

Ready to go, knows the manager, should be at his peak, low fee, would be a season or two's worth of value to the squad. There's the positives for O'Hora.

The negatives: another Russell Martin signing when we know managers are on a hiding to nothing here. A long contract may mean we're trying to offload in a couple of seasons - if we achieve what we want to achieve (promotion then mid-table to top half Championship, then in the promotion mix again) - but he could have multiple years left on his contract still.

Then again, McCarron has shown we can do lots of deals quite quickly, so perhaps offloading signings we're making this season in a season or two isn't beyond them and whatever system is put in place by, hopefully, a new set of owners.

If he's costing 400k and on league one(ish) wages then offloading him in a few years if we've gotten Champ or, dont laugh, Prem status back, won't really be an issue.

The issue arises if he and us are shit for this level.

Did that Finnish poster say that Kanga needs a communicator next to him? Might be an interesting partnership

Like the idea of O’hora without having watched him

play, seems popular, dropped from Brightons academy to MK then Hibs so hasn’t really had much of a chance at the level above but seems to have excelled wherever he has been. Could still play up a level or two and still has plenty to prove but still has experience. Him, Kangasniemi, Souttar/Loanee and then Thomas/Gray/Aluko as 4th choice

Take a listen to his interview when he first joined. His English is perfect.

As someone who follows Hibs a fair bit I think "excelled" might be a bit much. He's been very steady and of all the "experienced" centre halves we've been linked with he's definitely way more palatable than say John Souttar but I think League One might be his ceiling

Don't even mind it, it at least makes sense from a leadership and tactical view. There was plenty of people in here turning their noses up at Akanji and finding that link underwhelming. Reality now hits home somewhat.

He isn’t Scandinavian, so he’s underwhelming in my eyes ;)

Is he a proper leader and captain material? If he is, then steady to me means reliable and it is also something that we haven't got nor had for god knows how long.

From reading Hibs board, it might be the weed talk, that this wouldn't be a bad signing at all. Someone who is steady is exactly what the Finnish lad needs next to him to play his game. All he has to do is organise the defence and just be reliable, then leave the fancy passing to the mighty Fin (I will learn to spell his name) to do the passing. The current lot of CB are not either of that.

This sounds like a sensible transfer and one I think is needed and cheap for a 27yr old. Experienced head, but room to grow with us and not an over 30 has been. I know he's probably Martin's mate and a player that he wants, but this might be the right call.

He did very well against us, whilst looking a tad overweight!

Should fit in well at Seagrave then.

Unless we get some “having a medical” news today I think we’re done with incomings, can’t see much being done on a match day.

No reason why not. Should just treat it as a 5pm deadline like last year.

Medicals aren't done by the club physio, so don't know why you think that.

Didn’t know where to post this but

Not sure this will be a good move for his development. I'd be very concerned if I was his parents. Looked well off the pace last season with us, and Swansea are a pretty poor side so likely will have another season around a team that won't be challenging near the top of the league. Aside from getting a bit more exposure to being around a 1st team squad, I think he'd be better off getting up to speed with Man City's development squad to understand their patterns of play, expectations, etc. as clearly he hasn't had enough time to take this on board yet.
