This would be great for me 40 mins away. Our local team Bala Azul in tercera grupo 13 had preseason friendliest last year against Real Madrid U21 and Elche CF U21

Lovely place to live I imagine!

For the players with the heat would make for a good training camp.

I see similarities with us with Real Murcia, similar stadium size, and previous 'yo you history between la liga and their second division and now been stuck even further down for a while (barring a mircale title win of course lol). Thinking about coming over for a game next season.

Any links to when/where we might be playing?

Pre-season is probably only about 6 weeks away...

No, but plenty of tweets about 'our' World Cup players and the 5000/1 match.

It's only June, heaven forbid that we prioritise the important issues like organising our preason schedule and appointing a new manager.

I've seen countless teams announce friendlies already now. I'm sure that every single year we seem to announce ours late, manager or not

It’s because we are notoriously shite at everything. We probably sit waiting patiently to be contacted for friendlies instead of actively pursuing anything.

We're waiting for the official list of teams no one else wants to play to go with our players that no one else want's to play.

Yep and it's a very easy win with fans to give them a friendly in the summer they can look forward to. Whether that be home or away.

Surely its straightforward about the levels we need to play.

  • Maybe a national league side
  • One on a tour somewhere (Austria I believe?)
  • Then a couple of league 2 sides (ideally ones that have just be relegated from League 1)
  • Then a Championship side

Not about glamour its about getting the prep right.

It's nailed on to kick off with the marathon fitness session against Leuven at Seagrave.

I can see it being along the lines of two 11s playing on the same night one at Harborough and one at Anstey, followed by Newport, Birmingham and finishing with a  French/Italian side at home before the season starts.

The club literally doesn't operate unless it has Aiyawatt's approval. I half jokingly said a few months ago that the club only operates 10% of the time and I actually think this is close to the truth.

I think it's likely all far worse than most on here think it is. People are so used to this that they think it's normal. It isn't.

They 100% won’t have been working on anything whilst the “5000/1” game was being planned

That was our first friendly.

Yep. Now that's done they'll start searching for a manager form a standing start. We're into June now so the "senior management" will be back from their traditional month off after the season ends.

Even this we have got horrendously wrong for years and it was yet another crack starting to show in the running of the club.

We only just got away with the complete shit show of Top trying to flaunt us around Thailand after a relegation. Did we end up with one game played because they went in the middle of a storm?

Absolutely everything has always been about showing the King Power family off.

I’m at the point where I think they are incapable of multi tasking, so are just doing one thing at a time.

Currently they’re all trying to work out how to operate the fax machine.
