Problem with these altitude games - don't need to overexert otherwise you'll fade. Mexico have the harder game left on paper, but Austria haven't been training in altitude so should burn out early in that match. Korea planned their training camp specifically for this fixture, altitude in Salt Lake, pre-tournament they spent alot of time in Mexico preparing. Either of these two should be looking to win this group as they're better acclimatised than any, but it could come down to goal advantage considering this show.

What is it with kits these days moving away from tradition. France, Colombia, Croatia away kit, the Czechs. I wouldn’t mind if they were nicer colour combos but they’re objectively less bright and colourful.

That South Africa goal is terrible news for Scotland as it stands. Down to 7th with 6 teams still to play. Realistically -1 was always gonna be the cutoff but makes it far harder work with another 3 point team in there.

This is one of the groups that look more likely to have their 3rd place team on fewer than 3 points but that shock win by South Africa has completed an awful day for Scotland.

I'm not sure what's more surprising - South Africa finally getting it together and not just spawning a point but getting a deserved victory, or how badly South Korea have fallen off since their opening game. I genuinely thought South Africa were the worst team in the tournament after the first round for the sheer lack of cohesion or gameplan in their performance against Mexico, yet here they are sitting second and qualifying fairly comfortably. Huh.

SK almost certainly qualify on -1 GD, but it almost feels like they don't deserve to - they've followed the complete opposite trajectory and somehow look a far worse side than the one that squeaked past a crap Czech team on opening day. They'll get spanked in the round of 32 unless they get their act together.

That's a proper balls up from south Korea. First 2 games SA were one of the worst sides I've seen in the tournament and they've finished 2nd. 

 

Great result for Canada.

Big shock that result. Did not expect to wake up and see South Korea lose. Not seen any highlights but fair play to South Africa. 

 

Arguably they have a tougher game vs Canada as opposed to SK now having to play Egypt as it stands.
