right, but a bloke who's been in the PL with a newly promoted time is likely to have a much lower win %age than a bloke who's had one or two years managing a league two playoff side. Those are two wildly different jobs, and you can't just compare them by win %age

Richie Wellens has a better managerial win % than Nigel Pearson for example — it's just such a dense way of looking at it but he seems to be doubling down

Fine, I'll just do Swansea and MK Dons.

Russell Martin is 18th out of 22. Happy now?

if you do this, manager of the year would just be the team that wins the title every year. But like let's say next season Hull finish 7th in the prem, would Jovankovic not have done a better job than the likes of Maresca or Arteta would have done if theres another man city v Arsenal title race? Because any reasonable person would say yes, in this circumstance Jovankovic would have done a better job - win % wouldn't show that though

Were MK Dons massively fancied?

Well then what's the excuse for all of the managers managing MK Dons sized clubs in League One atm having a better win %?

Forget I said anything! Sorry gang

Calm down, I've just asked if MK Dons were massively fancied, as you said he'd never managed an unfancied side outside of Southampton in the prem

We can hate the decision, hate the footballer, but it’s still good to hear that he’s helping youngsters and you could even see him talking some of them through the game today.

That’s a good sign of character particularly if he’s planning his way out the club. That’s just comes from being a decent human, so maybe a bit of credit where it’s due

Out of interest I wanted to see where Russell Martins win % puts him in League One.

17th out of 22 managers, there's a couple who haven't managed a game yet so I didn't include them.

This is what I never get about "the best Leicester could have done" or the "we're in League One" brigade, his record is atrocious, even compared to other League One managers.

If you're interested, Hendrick Pedersens is the lowest, with 27.6% but 2 wins in 50 at Wednesday will do that.

I don’t know why we didn’t go for someone like Sam Allardyce, he’s without a club and offer a bit of discipline and grit. We need a Nigel Pearson kinda guy, no nonsense approach. Honestly, when Leicester have only won 4 of their opening 15 games are sitting mid-table with Mansfield Town - Russell will be booted and we’ll have an uphill task to salvage anything. League One is a rough as arseholes league, and shouldn’t be underestimated.

He actually is a decent human being.

People have let his performances make them think he just doesn’t care.
