I noticed Neuer did something I used to do as a lad in goal, not sure if he did it on purpose and I can't remember who the tell taught me it. But if you stand just ever so slightly to one side, it makes one side look a bit bigger. More often than not, the player would usually aim for the "bigger" area haha.

Also as keepers, we both know that if a player keeps looking at one corner, they're going the other way? lol

Woltemade tried that little one last night haha.

I remember Paul Cooper who had a great record of penalty saves (forgetting that weird night in a cup match at Filbert Street where he didn’t save any in a shootout) he would stand more to one side, hang and swing his arms like a baboon towards his nearest post planting the seed that “I’ve got this side of the goal covered” then before the strike inevitably to the other side he’d move across and dive for that post. I copied that to reasonable effect (let ‘s just say I lacked his flexibility).I suppose once the takers suss that  they’ll hit it to the side you originally occupied then you’d need a rethink.

Also loved the way if a linesman missed an offside he’d spend the next few minutes making glasses gestures at him :P Good old Coops.

I'd totally forgotten about that run. Just had a look at the Belgian team you beat. There was some talent in that side!

Even madder that Bale was on the pitch and didnt score or assist any of them.

Joking aside, Ramsey genuinely was out best player for a lot of that run including that game. And not because Bale was poor.

Ramsey at his peak was genuinely brilliant.

Genuine question if you could swap Kane for Haaland up front for England right now, would you go for it?

Imo Kane has evolved in to a better all round player than Haaland will probably ever be during his career. The move to Bayern has done wonders to complete his game.

I'd still rate Haaland as the better outright 9 if that's what your team needs. You'd probably argue that with all the creativity in attacking midfield in your team you probably could do without Kane. The outright physical freakishness probably gives you more to aim at and his pace behind would help you counter and press.

He's probably a bit of a better fit for Tuchel?

Never heard a stadium sound and look so empty for a world cup game. Maybe the roof being on has something to do with the sound being dead.

Too many neutrals in the crowd?

Don't most nations only get about 4,000 allocation and it's Ivory Coast and Norway hardly massive nations
