hackneyfox Posted 6 August Posted 6 August Interesting that people are saying we can't afford to pay £2m for a player and yet here we are turning down offers on Souttar. Perhaps there is a bit more to spend than people think. 2

Let's hope that's not the case at all.

If someone came in with an offer that was nearer what we value him at, I'm sure a deal will be done.

I think we would get put onto a transfer embargo if / when we go over the limit I don’t think it is something that can be hidden until the accounts come out this time

That said I had heard we have made assurances on required funds so let's hope all good.
OadbyBlue Posted 6 August Posted 6 August He’s obviously too good for this level, but both him and Okoli seem like the furthest thing from “Martin Centre Backs”. Rather just cash in on both and get a few replacements in (hopefully at least 1 of the young, hungry variety.) 1

Every time a club attempts to register a new player, contract extension, or loan deal, the EFL calculates the financial impact on the club's allowable wage ceiling. If signing a player pushes the club's wage-to-turnover ratio past the permitted threshold, the EFL will refuse to register the player. Get within 5% you are place in enhanced monitoring. Because it just wages to turnover its a bit more straightforward. Edited 6 August by coolhandfox

Wonder how owner injection works in this regard, is it ring fenced in case it is needed etc. Just curious as to how far ahead this forecasts on everything we owe this season. For example if we had a major amount owed to a debtor (not necessarily transfer related) how is that factored in, quite possibly separate and so this doesn't prove we are financially secure for the next 12 months.
Popular Post RowlattsFox Posted 6 August Popular Post Posted 6 August Given we've paid his wages for best part of 3 years for him to be injured the most of it, I think it would be pretty shitty of him to force a move with a transfer request. 13

Debt aren't included only debt servicing costs i.e. Interest. Owner injection via non-refundable equity/share can't be a loan. Edited 6 August by coolhandfox 1

Lesta2014 Posted 7 August Posted 7 August Captain tomorrow, think that’s a sweetener to convince to stay now Nelson’s done his ACL.

Think we end up with Souttar, two others and then TWB or Gray as 4th choice until Nelson is back 2

We've been rejecting Sheffield Utd's bids for Souttar to the extent that they've almost given up on him. It doesn't appear that we ever really intended to sell him, and we definitely won't now unless we get at least two more in.
