In this instance I believe the club/ Rudkin / whoever were probably right since they clearly had no intention of getting close to our valuation and even if they agreed something ,if rumours are true they couldn’t meet their obligation by which time we would have lost a player and the fee and the possibility of a sale elsewhere. 2

We really need to be active and get something agreed with interested clubs that works for all parties involved. Hanging on to him will end in tears for us. 8

Get it into the Admiral and get Burns, Watson, Alves, Howell, Page, Chaplin (delete as approproiate) running around him. We can play 50% tippy tappy shite, but if we launch it into the channels well 8 or 9 times a half then the high press will soon get to fook. I believe old school managers call it 'playing football' ie if they press you, go more direct into the space, if they sit off you get the ball wide quickly and get people in and around the box. A simple game made complicated by fools.

I’ve heard good things about Souttar generally—eg, very grounded and professional, with a positive attitude. He was clearly not on it last weekend, but from what I’ve heard I would expect him to refocus and commit to the cause if he ends up staying. I can’t say the same about Faes.

Hmmmm heard similar about others but unfortunately I will judge based on what I see in the pitch and in the case of Souttar and so many before him, he doesn’t want to be here and is going through the motions and trying to avoid injury. 1

It may well be that nobody else is interested, if so he'll have to knuckle down and take the risk of getting an injury like any other footballer, if he doesn't scouting reports on him will be poor and he won't get his move in January.

There are only positive things said about Faes by people who know him personally. The only thing that matters is on the pitch personality and Souttar has not been with it recently. 1

He also fairly recently got back from the world cup excitement to find himself playing in League 1. It would be quite normal to need to take a few games to get used to the idea. It's the manager's job to motivate him if he stays and get the best out of him. 1

But for other players, when they're shit they aren't given the same leeway to blame everyone else. Strange really. 1
