Feels like another Casadei where our fans are raving about him when he signs but he ends up looking very raw. But we do get a benefit if he improves us in the present. It's not solely a one way transaction if we "develop him" and we get nowt out of it. 2

He has played for Sunderland in the championship, scoring in the play off final….. at this stage, the priority is promotion, we’ve got plenty of players to develop, and unfortunately are in not position to be pursuing any more than frees and loans. 1

We don't have a LW youth who ready to 30 odd games, other than Alves who busy playing RW. 1

If he's currently rubbish at championship level that doesn't mean he is going to step down to league one level and instantly make an impact. If he is class at league one level then fair enough it's a good transfer but to me it seems like we are taking a risk here. It's just strange to me that we appear willing to take a risk on other teams youth players but not our own. Edited 30 July by honeybradger

I would have liked to see Alves play left wing for us this season if Mavididi leaves. Don't think he is as effective on the right and the CAM position is currently overstocked. 1

I want Hutchinson to go on loan in league 2 and playing down the middle. If we aren’t using him or Evans often I want them out somewhere playing every week. Edited 30 July by coolhandfox

Can we see the lad play first? 6

I think what I said is kind and balanced in comparison to what Millwall fans are saying about him i.e. worst player they have ever seen. Definitely did not go to any extremes. Agree with this^, Evans and Hutchinson should be loaned out, would rather keep Carr as a back up on the right and not disturb Evans getting minutes 1

He's 20 years old and has never dropped to this level before. He's more prepared for it than any of our options, on paper. Some people's brains won't be able to comprehend this amount of logic in one hit. 1
LCFCCKEANO Posted 30 July Posted 30 July (edited) Loans in League one means if w get up we have less financial obligation next year which equals more money to spend in a higher division. The equivalent spends on a LB and winger of the standard we have got in even if they’re naff would probably be in the ballpark of Cullen’s fee. Makes far more sense to have that money in a hopefully higher division and with better prospects, and doing it this way probably boosts the likelihood of promotion rather than signing L1/Champ journeymen edit:Also means we have more money to spend on better players, savings from this can be added to the pot for a 9 Edited 30 July by LCFCCKEANO

One of many. I'd give pretty much any new player the benefit of the doubt. For now.

Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 30 July Popular Post Posted 30 July He's a very big coup, let's be honest. I prefer Alves LW as others have said but I still think Mavididi goes and whilst I want to see Lorenz Hutchinson get a good amount of minutes next season he's far less effective as a wide player. He'd be my back up to a proper number 9. Good move this 8
