Once again, the value in the club is in what it would cost to build the stadium, training ground and brand, which is why they have the valuation they do.  Yes investment in playing squad is needed, but everything else is in place.  That saves potentially hundreds of millions of investment to create a premier league team.

Challenge being that football is a brutal game.

You don’t need a training ground like ours to win major trophies. You’ve only got to see that we’ve got millions walking out the door on free transfers like Motsi etc to the likes of Manchester City to see that it is a broken investment model.

A scouting setup is worth far, far more realistically than a training ground.

It’s the Macquarie debt which is essentially being used as a cash advance on money we haven’t yet received, at high interest rates. That still exists as debt.

You know the pot is empty when we’re using Macquarie to gives us immediate funds from the sale of an £8m player.

This might have been true once, but it certainly isn't these days.  With data, AI and the right talent I think you could set that up pretty quickly.

Yep, we're pretty much in the position financially of using credit card 1 to pay credit card 2 and paying off the interest element of credit card 1 with our actual income...

Had you said ...to the likes of Fulham, B'Mouth, Palace etc it would hold much more weight.
The fact that our academy lads being brought up in that training ground are being picked up by Man C, Liverpool, Arsenal & Man U tells you that either that training ground is having a major baring on their growth that the best of the best are looking inside it or these school kids are jumping just because they want to be linked to the clubs that school kids follow.

Rumoured American Investment is that the Mara family?

No indication is there?

Any American involvement scares me as the only value we might have is through asset stripping which a lot of them love

What debt do we have? I thought it had all been written off as equity.

only first party debt. we also will be losing money during this season so new debt will build up.

Especially as our training ground played no part in our recent success, and the big money sales.

How many more do they need to have full control off the premier league? Not many more then it's half time shows, matches in the USA and anything else

As a fan of American sports, wouldn’t bother me. Let’s be honest, going to the KP is shit, the pre match gubbins around the ground is shit, the hospitality is shit, the food and drink is shit, the music is largely shit…….. Americans know how to put an event on, the premier league is on its arse, might be a good thing……..

Provided you get good American owners, they’re all in, and will invest into the club…. Yes they might franchise us, but they would probably make us stable, and make money. Plus they know how to play dirty and get away with it.

Would we get Shakira and Madonna at half-time?

It’s shit though….. between burned “sausage rolls” and luke warm flat beer, it’s easily the worst in the country. Burton Albion is better, and that’s served out of a ****ing hole in the wall.

It has played a part in our academy and we can point to multiple multi million pounds sales of very young players to show the value.

I think the reality is, whoever comes in would need to be someone that is simply taking the club out of enjoyment rather than a good investment. We simply aren’t a good investment no matter how you look at it.

The success required to make your money back, is essentially our perfect scenario… where everything works out the best way possible …. In a landscape where almost every championship club is pushing for investment and driving for the same goal… it really is going to be a lot of hard work and not a simple “we should be there based on history”…. I hope our fans don’t pick up that Leeds attitude that the club should be there because ‘ we belong’.

Any advantage we had from our spell in the premier league has gone, with the last remaining bits being the fruit from the academy bring stripped away at an alarming rate and essentially required to keep us afloat.

we need a group that has investment from someone who wants an ego project/ play thing. We need a snoop dog type figure who simply doesn’t really care if they lose money on the investment because the profile of owning a club is what drives them rather than the money they might get back.

I just can’t see how we can look at Birmingham going for £10m and think someone is going to willingly pay £200m+ for us, while we have debts that would far outweigh what Birmingham had.

If we were to remove the bonus of the training ground (45m (I believe it’s listed),

women’s team, and leuven … we are still asking for $100m+ for a debt ridden club, with very few playing assets remaining.  so for a businessman… would you spin a roulette wheel betting on red, if the return if you get it right is 10% …. Because it feels like the risk vs reward does not sound slightly promising.  The new owner would likely only make profit if we became an established premier league side… and the investment to get there likely means that even then they will be out of pocket

Your first paragraph is true of virtually every owner. Everybody loses money in football. You don't buy a football club because it's a sensible investment, it isn't a sensible investment.
