Played ok. Players that keep getting us relegated look awful, need to get rid of all. Nelson’s injury, if bad, has forced us to change entire transfer strategy. He will leave for free, we can’t even play him and we just pay him and not song anyone else.

had loads of ball, don’t get the goal, expect an awful lot of that.

For 2 years we have know the whole defence need rip up and starting again.

Only Joseph and Aluko should remain, that's RB sort for a while.

CB get them all gone, Faes and Okoli crap, Souttar and Nelsom don't want to be here get them gone.

LB Thomas should have gone years ago.

Woyo has no idea what defending is bless him.

Did anyone else see the confrontation outside of B3 post match over the honesty flags? I’m getting tired of seeing blue on blue scuffles every damn match at the moment, pre season seems to be no different

They need permanently binning. Pointless and also nicked by thoughtless twats despite being informed not to.

Was at the game and saw plenty of positives. Think some 'fans' just want to be on a permanent downer. Yes, there's lots of room for improvement, but  I can see a style of play (which has been missing for 2 years) and players working their bollocks off. Could have easily been 2 or 3 nil up at half time and conceded a silly goal. But all in all a decent work out against a team that will be superior to anything we face in L1.

It’s almost as if i’ve been through this before

Centre half has got to be a priority particularly if Nelson is out. You could make a case for any of them leaving this window.

You mean Nello

Without a striker, we’ll still hit 1.5 points per game.

Way too optimistic.

That would give us 69 points and a possible shot at the playoffs.

But the squad as it stands is nowhere near good enough for that.

The dead hand of Rudkin, pulling the strings of the latest halfwit to sit in the City dugout, produced yet another dismal home result. Expect plenty more in the months ahead.

It's unforgivable that with transfer sales of £50 million+ (and likely to rise further) this summer, not one penny has been spent on a striker of any quality.

No lessons have been learned at the Seagrave vanity project. Expect a finish closer to the bottom than the top of this wretched league.

Positives

Lots of energy

Clear way of playing

Braybrooke looks brilliant

Joseph looked good

Woyo was an outlet 1st half

Cullen seems to get himself in good positions bit like king used too.

Negatives

Nelsons injury

Still dodgy at the back

Need a striker

No goals despite dominating 1st half

One big issue too, is we may still have 5/6 players leaving so hard to see what the final team will be.

I’ve posted this in the transfer section but thought I’d add it here. Looked ominous for Nello and for the club assuming he wants out. If it’s a knee ligament then he’ll be seeing out his last year on a full non playing rehab and then leaving on a free at the end of the season. Standard LCFC friendly luck.

Unless he goes abroad, we'd be entitled to compensation.

Encouraging performance from Jayden Joseph.

Braybrooke excellent again.

Mavididi with a disasterclass, get him sold.

Sign a ****ing striker.

Spot on. Braybrooke is clearly our best player - Why the **** hasn't he played before?

We desperately need a number 9

Thomas ****ing hopeless as well.

Will there be a game where he doesn't male at least one almighty **** up. Way too weak to be a professional footballer

If he is out for 3-4 months + then i can see him signing a 12 month extension with a sensible release clause which gives Nelson time to rehabilitate and get back to full fitness and form but protects the club and gives some opportunity to secure a fee.

I get that we want everyone to get a run out, but I am confused as to the split in squad for yesterday's matches. Surely that team yesterday wasn't the true first choice...?

Injuries to Chaplin and Alves won't have helped that I guess, but I also fail to understand why you would ever play BDCR as a striker in your final pre-season game. Especially with Otchere in good form.

Martin said “hopefully it isn’t serious” when asked about Nelson’s injury after the game. He also said they’d “see how it reacts”’ over the next few days. These comments suggest a painful knock rather than something more serious, but I guess we won’t know for certain for another day or two…

Have to say I thought the opposite - he sounded like he knew it was a bad one.

Overall, looked like the performance was decent, didn’t put our chances away and then a mess up by Thomas sees them score.

Im pretty happy with pre season, players seem to have taken Martin’s ideas on board. Still obviously need a centre forward and centre backs will change between now and end of window which isn’t ideal. But I fancy us to start the season well

I think the system, the press and the style was positive, certainly in the first half.

Echoing what everyone else is saying but its clear we need CBs and a main striker. I think if you mix that with what we have (mavididi and a couple of the CBs anticipated to leave) I think we have a good squad, but its crucial we fill those holes before the Notts county game

Fair enough. I just read Martin’s quotes—maybe his tone in the interview suggested something more serious.

I’m also enjoying what i’ve seen so far, but am trying to keep my optimism in check until we’ve actually played some league games and we know what the squad will be.

Does anyone know if the numbers that players wore yesterday will have any corelation to their actual squad number for the season?
