Can’t keep trying to play out from the back. 
Simply haven’t got good enough players for it. 
Martin has to change his approach otherwise we won’t win enough games and he’ll be gone. 
Genuinely don’t think he will.

Side full of tarts who either don't want to be here or think they're better than this level and weak wallflowers. The fact the three players who took the game by the scruff of the neck and stood out were Alves, Braybrooke and Joseph speaks volumes about the more senior players in the side.

 

McCarthy looks exactly as everyone expected, if not shakier with the ball at his feet than anticipated. Cullen was frightening in his anonymity and a waste of a shirt. Burns offered little but would have had an assist if Reid resembled a footballer and not a competition winner.

 

I don't think Martin is a particularly good appointment but the club has hung their hat on him — it's a real indictment on the recruitment team that while everyone was busy sucking each other off for a job well done on getting prats like Vestergaard and Winks out the door, they've failed to give a manager who is famed for playing it out the back defenders who are comfortable playing that way. The money spent on Cullen would have been put to much better use on a centre half who suits RM's style if we're short on wriggle room.

 

I still expect us to be up there but while Rudkin and McCarron were backslapping they seem to have neglected some pretty glaring issues, fortnight left and still a tonne of work to be done

 

And Luke Thomas is the worst left back we've ever had, no hyperbole

I can see what we are trying to do, and we had some nice patterns of play, but in the end we don't yet have the players capable of doing it, we can't finish for toffee, and we need to do it quicker. 
I saw RM visibly raging on a few occasions and it looked like the players were opting for the easy pass over risking anything, and in the end it just led to us being pressed back until we made a mistake, pretty much all of our mistakes were self inflicted. 

Style of play is obviously a big factor in this, but the players were awful.

Souttar was literally at fault for the goal and was caught out several times. As the captain and one of the more experienced players, I thought he was dreadful.

Thought Okoli/McCarthy/Thomas around him looked aggressively poor, cruyff turn was ugly but that aside he won a good amount of aerial duels, used to play centre back and it’s hard not to look crap if the three players around you are bomb scares

When you think about what we had 5 or 6 years ago it almost seems impossible to be in the situation we are in now.

 

you would have thought a relegation to league one would of somehow pulled the whole club together.  It hasn’t, it’s just falling further apart. 
 

it’s a point today but let’s have it right, we were second best by a mile against a team who will likely finish in the bottom half of the table if not further down than that.

this is the concern, they will finish bottom half and they had 6 huge chances today against us.

Yes it was incredibly frustrating to watch because it's all so obvious that it's still mainly the utter drivel from last season causing us the problems although McCarthy and Cullen are new worthy additions to the Twonk Squad

While some of the swamp draining is commendable, we’ve left crucial business far too late to have a well oiled unit going onto season. And it shows!
