Agree there, nothing was in it for leicester we already topped the group and somewhat picked a weakened side. Have to remember FC Porto are still former european champions.

At the time this was pretty horrific but obviously a long way down the list now 

 

Hull City shocked champions Leicester City in the opening match of the new Premier League season with a 2-1 win.

The newly promoted team, who started the season with only 13 fit senior players, outplayed Claudio Ranieri's men to take three points and go top of the table ahead of the 3pm games.

It's weird because it's often the manner of the defeat rather than an off day. That Spurs defeat were we were 2-1 up in added time was much worst than the 6-1 in 2017.

 

One of the worst for me was actually Slavia Prague in lockdown. Just sent me that performance did. I've never physically stormed out the house and gone for a long walk like that before. Just our approach to the game and with it being a knockout. The very worst of Rodgers.

Porto should absolutely not be there. We rested players because we were through! It's no huge embarrassment losing away to anyone 5-0 in the CL under those circumstances, especially a club that size.

In the past 30 years we've been embarrassed often but the 4-0 defeat to Oxford AT HOME in a league match in the lowest league position we have ever been in felt like a new level of humbling. Defeat to Forest in the cup, Wycombe, etc could be put down to cup eccentricity, and the odd league result over the years in Premier/Div 1 etc were awful but wasn't accompanied by the level of despondency that accompanies the Oxford defeat. It doesn't even feel like there is a light let alone any at the end of a tunnel.

I was on a train to Porto and one of our more mouthy fans asked a local lad “how many times have you lot won your league?” The lad said 36! 😂

There’s some stinkers in there but the majority were against top flight opposition, which is mitigation.

Interestingly, only Chelsea have played more EPL games than us without ever conceding 7 or more goals in a game.

I don't remember ever feeling worse walking down those double-decker steps than any other match. I think we were still in the top six at this point but it felt that everything built during the O'Neil era had just ended. And so it proved. Grim day.

Solanke had scored 0 goals in 28 games that season and scored a brace against us 

 

Conceded a penalty, an own goal, and had a player sent off, truly the biggest example of beating ourselves

Most of the posts above have a point. Not the Porto away 5-0: I was there and it was our second  string in a meaningless match against their first team.

 

But I’d like to offer a different take. Not one match but a sequence. I’d offer the 2021-22 Europa League group stage, from which we should have qualified comfortably. Instead, we won two of 6 matches (remember the Patson Daka game?) before losing the final game in Naples while Spartak beat Legia to condemn us to the Conference. We were among the 2 or 3 favourites to win the Europa, and only Roma offered serious opposition in the Conference. A gigantic underperformance against expectations.

 

Legia away was a truly pitiful performance too.

Still think we are prem champions. I think if you put a poll up half this lot would claim we are still a prem team.

 

 

We carry on like this we will become the most hated team in England.

The 3-5 at Fulham for me, i can remember the total lack of effort in this , Tielemans not even looking at the away end when he went off, he and the rest were dog sh#te that day
