We're seeing so many poor performances from individuals that I'm starting to doubt this but am really interested in what others think.

Martin has to go but I'm wondering whether we could get promoted if we got a really good manager (for me, that is anyone who bases the tactics on getting the most of the players we have and takes a hardline on poor performances) or whether our players are just not up to standard. It is obviously pretty shocking to be writing this about Leicester City in League One!

The question should be is the manager good enough for league 1?

Clearly he isn’t.

Someone else in charge like Challinor gets imo more out of this squad and at the very least we’d be top half.

Persisting with players like Thomas, Okoli and BCR is not helping us, as there seems to be no depths they can go to find their level. I truly believe that they would struggle in League 2 as well.

In saying that, I actually think we have more than enough from the other players, to be at the top of the table, but Martin has coached them into an absolute confused mess with his obsession with possession football.

I do think a change in Manager would help us dramatically, but we are now also suffering from a lack of confidence and an ever increasing pressure to perform, so the longer we leave it, the less likely we will be able to turn it around.

Didn't ask about the manager because my mind is made up about him. He's hideous and I want him gone.

I would have liked us to get Challinor.

We arent just losing to the best in the division we are losing to the worse

I would say the proof is in the results noy in ones opinions

Agree I’m just making the point that someone else gets more out of this squad.

The longer Martin is here the more likely league 2 is looking.

The Peterborough squad who just beat us is valued at 7m ours is nearly 10 times the value that gives some idea of the shite we are facing. Burton was even less

Every player, bar Riis and the two with ACLs are either out of their depth (Thomas etc.), disinterested (Burns etc.)  or need to be developed in a less hostile place and with only a couple of them playing each week.

A lot of it is down to manager, and obviously the upstairs lot, but there are serious questions to be asked of senior players, many of whom are internationals, who have delivered in the past at higher levels.

Is it really possible to judge.

How many players are suitable for the system?

Rumours some players aren't happy with Martin.

How's the sale affecting the players?

Are the players thinking admin is around the corner?

Do they/any of them care?

Moral has to be at an all time low.

We are more than good enough as a squad, it’s our play style that is crippling us. Genuinely think if we didn’t go so over the top in our own half we’d be top of the league. Martin pointed at Enzo but Enzo specifically built his team with get out plans that were almost drawn up, to the point it looked like the NFL at times, with Martin it’s keeping the ball until we are overloaded

Which players? Because I thought he was really well liked at the training ground?

As I said rumours on FB. But I would not be surprised. Some won't be happy with his system and not getting games.

Enough for it to affect other players who knows.

Fair question I think, because no matter how good/bad the tactics are, not being able to make simple passes or take on a man, track a man or put in a solid tackle is ultimately down to the players. Every ball in to the box is piss poor as well. Majority of our shots are weak or way off target.

The squad is more than fine for this level.

We're playing tippy-tappy football at the back, practically begging the opposition to punish us, with needless passes for the sake of it rather than any real focus on getting the ball forward and creating chances.

We've got the worst manager in history relative to the resources at his disposal, and it's not even close to being limited to this club. His record at previous clubs tells much the same story.

I think there are some individuals who are. The big problem is that they have all been brought in to play this possession based football, that if we were to suddenly abandon that for a more direct style, we wouldn’t have the ability to transition to that either.

Sadly, I think we’re good for another relegation this season.

I don't think it always works that way round, as many players would find it easier to play more direct at this level, and it is probably something they have all done throughout their careers at various points. If it was the opposite, and we were going from a more direct playing Manager to Russell Martin, then I could absolutely see players struggling to adapt and lacking the skillset. We are already seeing that now with these players, being simply not skilled enough to play out from the back. A more direct style would likely suit a lot of them, and I don't mean hoofball, but certainly a more direct approach with less fannying about at the back.

Certainly a top 3 squad but with a manager that can’t get anywhere near the best from it, shaping up to be bottom six.

Think we only lost about 4 games in the last league one campaign, drew a lot but we were extremely hard to beat. We are a soft touch under Martin, a team with the ball that doesn’t hurt opponents.

I actually think we have a much weaker squad than the cost and wages suggest. We are very poor in the goalkeeper position, conference north levels, we are league 2 level at left back at best. We have centre backs not comfortable with that ball other than teenager Kangasniemi. We have a number of lightweight players in midfield and attack with ok technique but with no physicality and little pace. Our pivot if it’s Lundstram can’t play on the half turn and we have one good striker. Overrated squad.

Agree with this. The manager is not helping but I think we have issues in all areas. Even if he goes I can’t see how we are going to find a decent goalkeeper, defenders who can defend, wingers who can take on defenders and get crosses in or regular goal scorers from this squad.
