I thought it was alright and I've hated his last few films.

He's one of those directors where if he can pull together an engaging enough story/script then it distracts enough from the visual nonsense and self indulgent bolx.

If you think his style is visual nonsense and you're hoping the script distracts you from it then maybe they just aren't for you...?

I love the way he shoots but I found Asteroid City quite meh and the French Dispatch but will always come back for me because I enjoy his eye.

From what I've seen they're going to do something a bit different from the Cornetto movies.

The Cornetto films were based on the idea of putting ordinary/"boring" British locations/characters into a Hollywood style story, which I think is what they're wanting to get away from in the next one.

Whatever it is, I cannot wait.

Not impossible they reuse that idea, hope they keep It British based. Which i expect they will due to the fact thats what kept there movies popular globally.

When Frost and Pegg took states side with 'Paul' for some reason it didnt work. Of course that movie did miss Edgar Wright involvement hence why i think that movie failed.

The Ballad Of Wallis Island is a really nice little movie. Thoroughly recommend

I watched this at the weekend and thought it was great.

Watched the new Jurassic Park film last night.

Thought it was pretty solid and much better than the recent 3 versions which all samey.

Not a patch on the original and nothing will but it had depth and characters and some suspense.

The big mutant Dino was probably a little too out there and there was some holes in the film but a solid 7/10 for me.

Another Ballad of Wallis Island fan here.

It's been a more emotionally intense time than usual and that and possibly having had a drink made me weak for such a carefully made piece of work. I basically loved everyone in it, must pull myself together

On the way to the cinema I said to the Mrs that it's going to just be another Jurassic park.

Story line all the same, you could almost call it out play by play scene by scene, I don't remember anything being a shock.

She wasn't happy when I pointed it out after 🤣

Watched Superman yesterday - thought it was just Meh - the Henry Cavill ones were better in my opinion. Just become a bit cheesy and almost "Tarantino" like in places.

Finally went to see the latest Jurassic World movie and thought it was certainly a lot better than the last two, was a relatively enjoyable popcorn movie.

Some of these are series but a fair few remakes though the Toxic Avenger does look decent.

Yes does not look like too many original ideas on offer here, Dracula, Frankenstein, Alien, Predator, vampire trailer park, zombies. How many  more variations can they wring from the one concept? The Blink film/series does look interesting at least. Who am I kidding,  I would probably watch the Alien spin off anyway because I like most of the films.

Just been to see Fantastic Four, did not have high hopes to be honest but was pleasantly surprised.

There's no MCU intro but that might be because its an alternate reality, not Earth 616.

The competition may not be great but in my opinion it is the best superhero movie this year, it has its faults but is a tight self contained movie that mostly does the characters justice and Galactus is actually a threat in this movie.

7/10

Also has two end credits sequences but only the first is really needed :)

Franklin Richards by the by is a mutant and an extremely powerful one in the comics.

Two videos below too, both hidden, the second goes more into detail about the scene, Dr Doom and Galactus :)

Went to see Jurassic 7. Couldn’t enjoy the last trilogy (haven’t even seen the last one) for many reasons but knew it would be in safe hands with Gareth Edwards. Been following his career from Monsters in 2010.

Honestly, loved it. Delivered on adventure, spectacle, story, character and scares; something I felt the  Pratt films lacked. Had heart and humour, giving every character their fair share of the story and action. And it was just FUN.

For me it did something that Alien: Romulus achieved last year, it felt like the originals did more than their most recent predecessors did.

Will happily watch another one if Edwards directs it.

I watched the Alto Nights on my flight back to the UK earlier this week.

I’d seen it had panned but the options to watch weren’t great, so gave it a go.

It’s a solid Gangster Movie in all honesty, where not a lot happens but watchable.

Having watched Just Mercy if I was an African American the last place on earth I'd want to live is the American South how any white Caucasian could treat fellow humans with such contempt is beyond me. This was set in 1998 I just hope that things have improved but I doubt it.

Meh, not a fan of the amount of reminders of the old film.

Feel it took a lot away from it, the nostalgia was there which is good but too in your face for my liking.

Agreed storyline mimic the LIV against US PGA issue. Some funny moments but too much many nostalgic moments. 6.5/10

A few funny moments, but yeah, way too much reliance on nostalgia and cameos.

John Daly was my favourite part of the movie.

Second half of the movie was just awful.

The first movie will always be a go to for me and I'll just pretend this one never existed.

By all means it wasn't a bad film at all, just also wasn't a 'wow' film?
