Thoughts on Happy Gilmore 2? I’m only halfway through but enjoying the fact that it’s not strayed too far from the original. Although I’m slightly biased as my friend co-produced the film (he’s also the main producer of Full Swing and was asked by Adam Sandler directly to be involved)!

Went to see Friendship at the Phoenix with my brother @Tommy Fresh on Thursday, simply world class. Most I've laughed at a film in a cinema.

Also what a lovely little gaff the Phoenix is by the way

Great venue. Get a nice meal, have a drink, just chilled. No screaming kids running round,, you can actually watch a film. Bliss.

It has some good laughs in it, but it's obviously too daft like most Sandler comedies. It does a very good job of being a sequel to the first film though. Fans of the first will love it.

I thought Will Zalatoris did a great job of playing an old character. Scottie was alright, but Bryson and Rory are terrible actors lol

I thought Fantastic Four was quite bland tbh. Very little actual peril even given the antagonist (who they about did as much as they can do with him).

The film was fine, but didn't have much in the way of excitement or good action scenes.

They’re filming the new spider-man up here in Glasgow. Looks pretty cool.

Fancy a few of those cabs flying around the town tonight…🤣

went to a podcast recording for mom can't cook (two video games journalists dunking on straight to TV/DVD movies) the other night. Covering Money Plane and it honestly might be the stupidest film I've ever watched. like the lowest budget heist film it is possible to make.

Went to see 28 Years Later last night. 2/5️s tops, first 1.5hrs was ok then it just got beyond stupid to the point I was laughing at bits that weren’t supposed to be funny.

I've been meaning to get round to doing their 'mystery film' showing but have always been busy. Such a simple, but nice idea.

Definitely an upgrade to spending hours choosing what to watch at home!

Enjoyed it like the first one tbh. Silly enough to be funny entertaining instead of stupid enough to be a hard watch like a lot of his films.

Shame its got Jared Leto in out though, he's crap, the film is crap, or both in 90% of what I've seen him in

Yeah felt very meh for me too. Had none of the charm I expected. Was clearly just a set up for the next MCU vehicle.

So I saw these lists popping up of the greatest movies of this century and although I'd seen many of them, there's quite a few I haven't.

Parasite was listed at #1 on one of the lists. Didnt realize it had won best picture in 2019.

I feel like when you hear something like that your expectations are automatically set higher, but it certainly is an interesting and terrific film. I was well into the story and d8dnt mind the sub-titles at all. I think maybe the final act was a bit of a letdown. I'm not sure what I was hoping for, but with all the build up, it just didn't quite stick the finish for me.

Get Out was another one high up on many lists and I didn't know anything about it going in. Was surprised that Jordan Peele had written and directed it.

I didn't find it difficult to figure out what was actually going on with the story in this one, but it kept me interested right to the finish.

I'd probably have to watch both again to say where they'd rank for me amongst films of the last 25 years, but as it stands, neither would crack my top 25. But, I did enjoy two very unique films that had slipped by me at the time of their release.

I always think of get out as a poor man's skeleton key. Similar premises but didn't land as well in get out for me
