So I saw these lists popping up of the greatest movies of this century and although I'd seen many of them, there's quite a few I haven't.

Parasite was listed at #1 on one of the lists. Didnt realize it had won best picture in 2019.

I feel like when you hear something like that your expectations are automatically set higher, but it certainly is an interesting and terrific film. I was well into the story and d8dnt mind the sub-titles at all. I think maybe the final act was a bit of a letdown. I'm not sure what I was hoping for, but with all the build up, it just didn't quite stick the finish for me.

Get Out was another one high up on many lists and I didn't know anything about it going in. Was surprised that Jordan Peele had written and directed it.

I didn't find it difficult to figure out what was actually going on with the story in this one, but it kept me interested right to the finish.

I'd probably have to watch both again to say where they'd rank for me amongst films of the last 25 years, but as it stands, neither would crack my top 25. But, I did enjoy two very unique films that had slipped by me at the time of their release.

I quite liked “Get Out”.

I’d not heard of it, then it dropped on Sky. From memory, I ended up watching it in a hotel room on my iPad one night.

Parasite, I sat at home to watch and I struggled. I just didn’t get the hype.

If you think 2000 onward, we’ve had some great films that maybe younger people haven’t seen.

I’ve just looked at my IMDB ratings and I’d say my top ones are:

Memento

The Green Mile

The Pursuit of Happiness

The Dark Knight

Moneyball

The Wolf Of Wall Street

Infinity War

End Game

The Prestidge

Blood Diamond

Kill Bill

Superman was poor

I thought it was alright tbh. Certainly better than the vast majority of shite DC have put out in recent years.

Yeah I enjoyed Superman and I have had zero interest in that character throughout my life

It’s like a feature length murder she wrote isn’t it.

Yep. I’ve read the books and while I think they’re overrated, the film just has zero depth compared to them. Felt very rushed.

If you get the chance, go and watch Jaws in a theatre near you. 50-year anniversary. 2nd highest box office in the US right now.

Just shows how bad and/or unimaginative modern-day Hollywood movies have become.

They are releasing a lot of older movies back onto the big screen, go look at what Vue has upcoming, modern Hollywood cant compete with its past.

Can't believe Oldboy (Korean version), not on that list, or Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting also brilliant

Pulp Fiction and Trainspotting are from the 90's.

I quite enjoyed the Thursday Murder Club, although granted I hadn’t read the book so can’t compare. Wasn’t my favourite movie ever but a solid couple of hours’ entertainment.

On the Green Mile mentioned above, that’s a movie I really try to avoid because if I find myself watching a minute of it I end up watching the rest of it then realise three hours have passed. Great movie but a proper time sap.

Watched weapons. Pretty good and good fun. Liked the referencing other horror films. Acting good. Wasn't very scary.

Wouldn't watch again, 8/10
