If they were looking at it objectively it would be below par because it appeared to be uneven on day one as the bounce was variable. I didn't watch enough of the game to judge but I have noticed the Grace road decks do generally have variable bounce over the game but it generally keeps low and not spit off a length.

Why was it cut that way?

Offer a bit more for both seamer and spinner, ultimately make it more likely produce a result. Doesn't mean it was necessarily substandard and, by all accounts, we'd had that approved by the ECB in advance.

Great to see Sol back from injury and playing in our Second XI match against (of all teams) Glamorgan that's just started:

Starting XI: SG Budinger, R Rajashekar, AS Kalsi, LJ Hill*, D Fanibanda, GW Maddy†, Raheem Ahmed, MS Rizvi, A Farooq, JTS Sumerauer, H Cox, TS Marshall

I'm pretty sure Fanibanda was a 'Carry On' character.

The social media snippets have improved, knocking out some nice video clipped together bits recently.

The website actually loads up properly now, something Sean Jarvis never managed in his time.

Even with approval from the ECB the pitch still has to be marked on its own merits, was there excess (excess is the key word) seam, spin or uneven bounce? The latter will probably be the issue. Unfortunately it’s all irrelevant that it was an exciting game with a result on the final day as the ECB marking system doesn’t actually take the whole game into account.
It does leave us in a precarious position as if we get another BA mark in the next 12 months then we’re in trouble.

The ECB will question if we prepared the best pitch possible.

So the play has started, Holland bowling, but the Leicestershire commentator thinks it's Davey.

For pity's sake get Richard Rae back

Richard Rae made mistakes by the bucketload he once confused Gavin Griffiths with Ben Mike

I watched a bit of the live stream and thought the commentary was decent enough, going on about seagulls and fish and chips 🤣
