There was also the point about clumps of grass, which needed raking more. I know nothing about pitch preparation, but I'm assuming this may have been done with shorter grass.

The seam on the ball will nip the grass out of the pitch should the grass be too thick creating a kind of divot, it doesn’t disturb the soil just the grass. Raking the pitch out would thin the grass covering and get rid of the clumps. 
I think the issue combined with the above was the amount of cracks which caused uneven bounce. 
The hot weather and the amount of extra cricket (women’s games have added more pressure on the square) means pitches will get reused and are never as good second or third time around.

I’m really annoyed about the suspended points as well. Basically encourages teams to complain about the pitch if they lose as Glamorgan did.

That being said it’s a extremely harsh punishment for us and has probably been that harsh to try and nip the interference in the bud and protect the HGM in the future. 

Aside from the harshness of the deduction and the inconsistency of not applying punishments uniformly, this issue puts the spotlight on Henderson and Thomas again.

 

We've somehow made it to the One Day Cup final (despite being far from impressive), but there's been the disgraceful T20 campaign (Derby's powerplay was probably the worst 30-40 mins of play I have seen at GR), poor choices of overseas bowler (anyone on here could tell you we needed a quick), starting the season with a competition winner taking the new ball, and countless stories of friction between players/coaches.

And now this.

 

Earlier on this thread, someone rightly said that we're more competitive under them, but then, with the extra resources we now have, and the contracts we can offer, that's an absolute minimum. 

 

Perhaps others disagree, but for me Henderson and Thomas have to go regardless of this weekend's result.

There is an issue here if pitches are only investigated if the away club complain  however, I’m sure that’s not the case.

Seeing as we're down now anyway, What we should do against Warickshire is just declare on 1 run each innings. No law against it. Make the title race a farse!

I think not. Under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regulations, throwing a match—formally classified as match-fixing or corrupt conduct—is strictly prohibited and carries severe penalties, including life bans.

On the other side it'd be devastating if we ended up winning our last 2 games and were only relegated due to that ridiculous points deduction

It was the match referee. Nowt to do with Glamorgan.

 

If a match ref marks a pitch below average or worse, it automatically triggers an investigation.

Balls. Gumbs definitely needs to add another gear to his game but it was doing a good job for him and the team today.

 

Ideally no more wickets today but if it's just 1 and they can dent another 60/70 into the total, still in a good position

It’s ludicrous when the team we were playing posted less than 140 in both innings put together, at home, a couple of weeks later.
