It’s been a hell of a ride but I don’t blame any one of the players. There’s no shame in coming runners up and it is still a great achievement to reach the final. Far from criticising individual performances I want to congratulate the whole team for a great tournament, thank them for the entertainment and commiserate with them for their loss. It will be hurting them more than us.

You can only best what's in front of you but we have played out full first team minus one against mostly 2nd teams so it would have been a massive disappointment if we didnt make the final.

Really disappointing after such a great start. We really let them build momentum in the middle order and we just couldn’t match it at all with nobody able to stay with Kelly. Some very silly shots especially given we never needed above a run a ball at any point.

Real shame. Their innings wasn't far off the story of ours in 2023. We failed to see off Roland-Jones and coped poorly with Helm's pace.

 

Can't begrudge Middlesex fans the win. Top noise from our lot as per three years ago. Felt like 1 or 2,000 more there than last time?

What a shame. A more than chaseable total after the bowlers put us in a great position. Yet again we are the masters of our own downfall with some ridiculous batting. I can’t believe Ahmed didn’t review. He would’ve survived. Holland charging the wicket when we were seemingly in control with 5 wickets in hand was the worst thing for me. 
 

Superb support, as expected. There are no cricket fans like Leicestershire and that Fox Road end made it like a football atmosphere. Some serious lads out in force too.

Kelly single handedly took us within touching distance and also lost us the game. Such a shame after a terrific knock. 
 

Too many batsmen gave their wickets away with stupid shots. The game was there for the taking really. 
 

Great support at Trent Bridge though for the foxes 🦊

Seen a couple of lads get thrown out for swearing. Felt bad really one bloke was with his girlfriend and was only joining in with the songs. Bit over the top from the stewards for me.

We have a cult following that is bigger than people think. And more vociferous than any team in the county game by a country mile. My Middlesex mate didn't know what to think about it.

 

Why did Sky station Dagnall next to us for the innings break interview after that points deduction? Didn't really get his patter off the ground did he!

Completely braindead batting by everyone. Even Kelly at the end with the shot that got him out . Should've easily won that with sensible batting. Thomas and Claude time to go!

Interesting challenge for the club to try and get these 3/4 thousand passionate fans who are preperared to spend money on ticket and travel to Nottingham and booze for the day for a one day cup final, but don't seem to be coming to grace road with any regularity.

 

Forget the South Asian community or students this must be the biggest open goal in terms of growth for the club! Not sure how you capitalise on it though? Maybe a white ball pass for 100 quid if you can prove you were at Trent Bridge today? Sacrifice a bit of short term cash for long term growth?

I think one issue is the crossover between those who go to LCFC games and LCCC means you will struggle to get that kind of support with any regularity. Would have been interesting to see how many were there today if it had clashed with an LCFC fixture.

Need to be aiming marketing campaigns in the area near the ground. Discounted membership if you live in walking distance.

 

Almost make Grace Road a de facto social club. Derbyshire went big on targeting the estates near their ground this summer and I believe their T20 sales were up.

Plenty of village cricket clubs do the same thing. We have and the takings have sky rocketed. I don't see why you can't do it on a much bigger level.

 

I also think our fan base is unique. The club could really lean into that.
