Been checking bus times for when I go away in August. There are buses from the station in York to Huby but only once a day and there are only early ones from the next stop so will have to catch it outside the theatre. I get in York at 12.40 and have about a ten minute walk. So I can catch a 13.05 or 14.05. Anyone from York name a decent (reasonably priced) pub near the theatre Royal if I have to wait. Coming back I'll be OK there is a bus going to the station and gives me time to spare.

By the time you're there you're basically in the city centre so you have your pick. There's meant to be a pub for every day of the week in York. They're not cheap though. If you walk down bootham you might find a £3 pint somewhere.

Thanks  I might just try the Tap like Vol says as its only a short walk. Dont know what luggage I'll have but want it to minimum. Only there Thurs to Mon. Just a large ruck sack and a bag for my laptop/android.  Would go into York one day  but as you say it is expensive.

Leicester CAMRA have a trip there Nov 1st  so hopefully they'll know the better ones. I'll try and get an itinery. It will be real  ale and Wetherspoon pubs.

I was offered a 30-day free trial (when it was first known), which I accepted; but after a month or so realised they started to take money out of account.

Didn't know I was still on their 'trail books', as I thought after the trial had expired I'd not be on it anymore.

It says this on the sign up page:

Have just got home from a fabulous day with head of psychology at a PL club. Absolutely astonishing comparing psychometrics and tools. The lengths they go to to cover every single aspect of player preparation / development is astonishing. talk about attention to detail. Had a go on one of their tests - how embarrassing is my peripheral vision !!!

Didn't know I had Amazon Prime until a few weeks ago when I checked why bank balance had gone low quite considerably.

Never used Amazon since, and don't think I will again; stealing money without informing users what they took money for.

Cancel it, you will get refunded. I'm the same though, will never use them again.

Had an interview for a promotion today. I felt prepared going in with the new boss who I don't really know. But then it felt like he ripped me apart though without getting out of first gear. Fair play to him, but I'm not feeling good about it at all. Find out Monday.

Didn't get it :(

Nice day. Travelled across Austria by train. Very much 'sound of music' country, rolling hills, jagged peaks and beautiful churches. Sat opposite an Eritrean gent who told me about his plans to get to Munich. Chelsea fan, naturally. Italian border police got on at Bolzano, walked up and down saying "ciao, buona fortuna" to the Eritreans and then walked off.

Also wangled 3 hospitality tickets for S'land game. So good day all round.

Door jammed at work and I hit my head (which has resulted in a bump and bruise) so I booted it in a rage and took it clean off its hinges lol

I'm not an angry person at all usually, honest

Off to a friends book launch at the Western but before I go I would like to leave you with this thought.

TO AN ATHEIST

To an atheist not believing

Can never ever be a sin.

Making love ten times is Heaven

Hell is not making it to eleven.

This morning, I took a taxi to work. Instead of a radio, the taxi had a video screen on the dashboard.

The taxi driver took the wrong route, and what normally would normally have been a 10-minute-longer "detour" took another 10 minutes on top of that because we got stuck behind busses dropping kids off at a school summer camp.

So, for 10 minutes, I sat in the road going nowhere, watching the music videos to "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "We're Not Gonna Take It."

And that's how I knew today was going to be a strange day...

Mother texted earlier to say her dog (no jokes etc) been run over by some farm vehicle; broken one of back legs.

Vet might think (as he's nearly 17, and been diagnosed with shakey-leg syndrone for 2 years) that it might be worthwhile to 'put him to sleep'... Might post pic.

Ordered a  new fridhe-freezer. Its not has big as the one that I have which  has been broken for a while. Asmaller freezer section. Should be OK for me though.

It was  going to be two weeks for free delivery (£20 sooner) but I was undesicive about the cover plan and he said they can deliver it sooner for free  so getting it Tuesday. Seems a bit strange that they couldnt deliver for a fortnight for free but suddenly decided they could.

The cover plan seems OK. £30 for three years. Covers breakdown shelving and they come once a year to give it a valet service and clean it throughout. I think I will need that after 6  months though.
